W2 ONLY - NO VISA Sponsorship available Job Title: Azure FHIR Integration Specialist Location: Columbus, IN/ Remote Job Summary: We are seeking a skilled Azure FHIR Integration Specialist / Azure FHIR Data engineer with hands-on experience implementing Azure Health Data Services and FHIR API integrations. In this role, you will work with healthcare clients to design, deploy, and optimize cloud-based solutions that ensure secure, compliant, and scalable exchange of clinical and patient data using HL7 FHIR standards. Key Responsibilities: β€’ Implement and configure Azure Health Data Services for storing, processing, and querying healthcare data. β€’ Design and deploy secure FHIR API endpoints using Azure FHIR service. β€’ Integrate EHR/EMR systems and clinical applications with FHIR-based APIs. β€’ Work with cross-functional teams to define data ingestion pipelines, identity management, and role-based access using Azure Active Directory (AAD) and RBAC. β€’ Ensure compliance with HIPAA, HITRUST, and other regulatory frameworks. β€’ Collaborate with solution architects, DevOps teams, and clinical stakeholders to build scalable healthcare solutions. β€’ Monitor and troubleshoot FHIR data exchange, performance, and audit trails. β€’ Support data mapping, transformation, and normalization from legacy formats (e.g., HL7 v2, CDA) to FHIR resources. Required Skills & Qualifications β€’ 5+ years of experience with Azure cloud services, including Azure Health Data Services, FHIR API, Azure API Management, and Azure Functions. β€’ Strong understanding of HL7 FHIR data model, including resources, bundles, profiles, and extensions. β€’ Experience integrating with EHR systems like Epic, Cerner, or Athenahealth using FHIR/REST APIs. β€’ Hands-on experience with OAuth2, SMART on FHIR, and Azure AD authentication flows. β€’ Proficiency with scripting and automation using PowerShell, ARM templates, or Bicep. β€’ Familiarity with Azure Monitor, Log Analytics, and Security Center for performance and compliance tracking. β€’ Excellent communication skills with the ability to work in client-facing environments. Preferred Qualifications β€’ Azure certifications (e.g., AZ-305, DP-203, or Azure for Health Specialization). β€’ Experience with data pipelines using Azure Data Factory and Synapse Analytics. β€’ Background in healthcare IT or knowledge of clinical workflows and data exchange standards. β€’ Experience with FHIR IGs and FHIR Mapping Language is a plus.
