Role description
Job title: Azure Solutions Architect Department: Platform Engineering / Data Services Location: Local Minnesota Candidates ONLY (hybrid, 3 days onsite in Minneapolis). Pay: 70-77/hr W2 Role Overview The Azure Solutions Architect will lead the design, implementation, and operational excellence of Azure-based infrastructure and services. This role is critical to ensuring secure, scalable, and cost-effective cloud solutions. Key Responsibilities โ€ข Architect and Operate Azure Infrastructure: Design and manage Azure services including Azure Data Factory, Synapse, Databricks, Logic Apps, Event Hub, and DevOps pipelines โ€ข Cloud Strategy & Governance: Collaborate with stakeholders to define cloud strategy, enforce DevSecOps governance, and align with enterprise architecture standards. โ€ข Infrastructure as Code (IaC): Develop and maintain IaC templates for automated provisioning and configuration using tools like ARM, Bicep, or Terraform. โ€ข Security & Compliance: Implement IAM roles, access controls, encryption, and auditing mechanisms to protect production environments โ€ข Performance & Cost Optimization: Monitor cloud usage, identify inefficiencies, and propose cost-saving measures (e.g., power cycling IRTs, optimizing resource allocation) โ€ข Release Management Support: Participate in Azure DevOps and release support meetings to troubleshoot deployment issues and manage pull requests โ€ข Documentation & Reporting: Prepare design documentation, architecture diagrams, and operational reports for internal and external stakeholders Required Skills & Experience โ€ข 8โ€“15 years of experience in cloud architecture and operations, with a strong focus on Microsoft Azure โ€ข Expertise in Azure services: Synapse, Data Factory, Databricks, DevOps, Logic Apps, and Analysis Services. โ€ข Strong understanding of ETL/ELT pipelines, data lakes, and Spark Pools โ€ข Experience with cloud security frameworks and compliance standards. โ€ข Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines, Git repositories, and release automation. โ€ข Excellent problem-solving, communication, and stakeholder management skills. Preferred Qualifications โ€ข Bachelorโ€™s or Masterโ€™s degree in Computer Science, Data Science, or related field. โ€ข Certifications: Microsoft Certified: Azure Solutions Architect Expert, Azure Security Engineer Associate. โ€ข Experience with AWS and hybrid cloud space .
