Job Title: Azure/Databricks Data Engineer Location: White Plains, NY 10601 Work Arrangement: Hybrid (4 Days Onsite / 1 Day Remote) Employment Type: Contract Duration: 4+ months (July 2026 to October 2026) Pay Range: $55.00/hr. to $65.00/hr. on W2 | $62.00/hr. to $72.00/hr. on C2C Domain: Energy & Utilities | Enterprise Data Operations Application Deadline: June 22, 2026 SKILLS REQUIRED: Primary (Must-Have): • 14–18 years of comprehensive Data Engineering experience with an emphasis on production-grade environments • Advanced, expert-level proficiency with Azure Data Factory (ADF) for complex ETL/ELT pipeline orchestration • Strong hands-on engineering experience using Azure Databricks for large-scale data processing, transformation, and performance tuning • Proven track record in Business-As-Usual (BAU) operations, production support, and maintaining enterprise run-the-business data platforms • Exceptional troubleshooting capabilities to diagnose, isolate, and remediate pipeline failures and data quality issues independently Secondary (Good to Have): • Prior experience operating within the Energy, Utilities, or public sector domains containing strict compliance frameworks • Practical exposure to Databricks optimization protocols, cluster tuning, and advanced Delta Lake implementation • Solid understanding of data governance, security standards, and operational compliance policies in a cloud environment POSITION OVERVIEW We are seeking an elite, deeply seasoned Principal Data Operations Engineer for a 4-month enterprise engagement requiring a 4-days-a-week onsite footprint in New York. This critical role focuses entirely on Business-As-Usual (BAU) support, operational stability, and incremental enhancement of foundational data pipelines rather than new project delivery. Operating as a senior independent contributor, the architect will own production support workflows, ensure uninterrupted platform reliability, and collaborate cross-functionally with senior stakeholders to maintain peak operational standards.
