Akkodis is seeking a Backend API Developer with for a contract to hire job opportunity with a direct client located in the New Castle DE area. The candidate will be working on Web APIs that will interact with instrumentation APIs.
Rate : $55-70/hr W2 on the contract based on years of experience, education and other factors
Please note: This is not a C2C or third-party fee option role
We are seeking candidates somewhat local to the New Castle, DE area as the candidates must work onsite 3 days per week starting day one and the final interview is an onsite interview.
Backend API Developer job responsibilities include:
β’ Research, design, develop and release/maintain: Application, User interface, Data analysis, Instrument control software for thermal analysis, rheological, and calorimetric instruments.
β’ Evaluate system specifications and translate system requirements to task specifications.
β’ Responsible for ongoing support of current programs including performance, diagnosis and troubleshooting of problem programs and designing solutions to problematic programming.
β’ Work within a formal development process covering the full development lifecycle.
β’ Work in collaboration with the agile team and appropriate experts to implement your designs.
β’ Provide code and supporting documentation in accordance with the coding guidelines, quality processes and applicable procedures, including team's definition of DONE.
β’ Work in collaboration with the agile team to generate automated and manual tests to verify implemented software.
β’ Provide work estimates and tracking information to support management decisions and planning.
β’ Provide contributions to the application architecture with a focus on scalability, maintainability, security and performance.
β’ Provide product specific and technical support to internal and external users where appropriate.
Required skills and experience for the Backend API Developer includes:
β’ 5+ years of experience with C#, .NET, ASP.NET, Web APIs
β’ Experience building RESTful APIs
β’ Experience with Web API security and rate limiting
β’ Experience designing web APIs
β’ Experience with Web APIs that interact with Postgres
β’ Experience working on a time series or time scale database
β’ Strong technical experience in client server programming
β’ Experience developing an application from end to end - from the database to the user interface.
β’ Excellent written and verbal communication skills are essential.
β’ Experience with multi-threading using C#
β’ Experience interacting with instrumentation APIs is strong desired
β’ Bachelorβs Degree (preferably in a science related subject or in engineering)

β’ Analytical Instrumentation Domain
β’ Experience interacting with instrumentation APIs is strongly desired
