Key Responsibilities:
β’ Develop clean, efficient, and scalable Python code for back-end applications
β’ Design and implement functional requirements and modular software components
β’ Architect and build high-performance, low-latency, and highly available applications
β’ Design database schemas and integrate multiple component applications into a unified system
β’ Write well-tested, maintainable, and readable code following best practices
β’ Debug and optimize applications to ensure reliability and performance
β’ Collaborate closely with UX/UI designers to translate designs into functional features
β’ Integrate front-end elements with server-side logic
β’ Participate in code reviews to maintain high code quality and share knowledge across the team
β’ Lead software design reviews for junior developers, providing guidance on architecture and best practices
β’ Support test automation through thoughtful software design
Qualifications:
β’ Minimum 5 years of experience as a Backend Engineer or similar role, with a proven track record in designing and implementing complex back-end systems
β’ Strong software design skills including modular architecture and back-end database design
β’ Proficient in Python and familiar with frameworks such as Flask, Django, or CherryPy
β’ Experience with front-end technologies like JavaScript, HTML5, and CSS3 is a plus
β’ Masterβs degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field preferred
β’ Experience working in Agile environments (Scrum, Kanban) in fast-paced settings
β’ Contributions to open-source projects or active involvement in developer communities is a plus
β’ Knowledge of additional back-end languages like Node.js, Java, or Ruby is beneficial
β’ Strong understanding of RESTful APIs, microservices architecture, and asynchronous messaging (e.g., RabbitMQ, Kafka)
β’ Experience with relational (MySQL, PostgreSQL) and NoSQL databases (MongoDB), including schema design and query optimization
β’ Familiarity with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, Google Cloud) and container technologies (Docker, Kubernetes) is desirable
β’ This is a hybrid role requiring to go in office 3X a week. Candidates in the DMV area are preferred.
