Role Overview We're seeking a talented Backend Python Developer with strong expertise in Python, SQLAlchemy, machine learning, and AWS cloud services. This role focuses on building robust backend systems, APIs, and serverless architectures for scalable healthcare applications. The ideal candidate will have also experience with AWS Lambda functions, SNS, and SQS for building event-driven, distributed systems, along with practical machine learning implementation experience. Key Responsibilities • Design and develop scalable backend services using Python and SQLAlchemy • Build and maintain RESTful APIs using Litestar WSGI or FastAPI frameworks • Develop serverless functions using AWS Lambda for event-driven processing • Implement message queuing and notification systems using AWS SQS and SNS • Design and implement machine learning models and data processing pipelines • Design and optimize database schemas and queries for high-performance applications • Build data processing pipelines and ETL workflows • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver high-quality software solutions • Write clean, maintainable, and well-documented code with comprehensive testing • Optimize application performance, scalability, and reliability • Stay updated on emerging technologies to enhance our tech stack Required Skills & Qualifications • 4+ years of experience in backend Python development • Strong proficiency in Python, SQLAlchemy ORM, and database design • Hands-on experience with Python machine learning libraries (scikit-learn, pandas, numpy, etc.) • Hands-on experience with AWS Lambda functions, AWS SNS, and AWS SQS • Solid understanding of RESTful API design principles and implementation • Experience with Litestar WSGI or FastAPI frameworks • Proficiency with PostgreSQL or similar relational databases • Experience with AWS ECS and containerized deployments • Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail • Excellent communication skills and ability to work in a remote team environment • Experience with data modeling and ETL processes Nice-to-Have Skills • Front-end experience with React, TailwindCSS, and modern JavaScript frameworks • Experience with containerization tools like Docker or Kubernetes • Knowledge of CI/CD pipelines and automated testing frameworks • Mathematical background including statistics and linear algebra • Experience with healthcare data systems and HIPAA compliance • Familiarity with AWS services beyond Lambda/SNS/SQS (RDS, S3, CloudWatch, etc.) • Experience with event-driven architectures and microservices • Knowledge of data warehousing and analytics platforms • Experience with deep learning frameworks (TensorFlow, PyTorch) • Natural Language Processing (NLP) and document processing experience What We Offer • Remote work • Opportunities for professional growth and skill development. • Collaborative, high-performance and inclusive work culture.
