Role description
BCforward is seeking a highly motivated Benchling Developer to support their pharmaceutical client’s Benchling Implementation.
Expected Duration: Long term
Location: San Diego, CA preferred/open to remote
Services and Deliverables:
• Develop new notebook templates, components and tools to improve coverage of experimental workflows in Benchling.
• Translate scientific requirements into viable IT solutions.
• Communicate with scientists to clearly define experimental workflow data requirements.
• Develop dashboards that provide clarity into the status and quality of experimental workflows.
• Train scientists on the use of Benchling along with the developed workflows and system requirements.
• Provide technical support and troubleshooting capabilities for scientists.
• Build data connections between systems such as Benchling, Biologica, Research data and data visualization and analysis platforms.
Consultant Responsibilities:
• Effectively document information in a clear, concise, and consistent manner
• Apply critical thinking to identify pain points, broken process, or overall opportunities to build efficiencies.
• Apply continuous improvement mindset.
• Escalate risk and issues timely and to appropriate Lilly representative.
Desired skillset:
• Strong (3+) years of experience developing features in Benchling
• AWS/cloud services/API/full stack development
• Python/SQL
• Biological/scientific domain expertise
• Excellent communication skills
• Highly independent and self-driven
• Github/Jira/Confluence/Lucid
