Role Overview We are seeking an experienced BI Designer to join our team on a 6-month contract for a major public sector client. The successful candidate will play a key role in designing and delivering advanced business intelligence solutions, with a strong focus on data visualization dashboards using Power BI and Microsoft Fabric. This role requires someone who can translate complex data into intuitive, insightful, and visually compelling dashboards for decision-making at all levels. Key Responsibilities • Design, develop, and optimize Power BI dashboards and reports for business stakeholders. • Leverage Microsoft Fabric to build scalable, secure, and efficient data solutions. • Collaborate with data engineers and analysts to ensure data quality and integrity. • Transform raw data into actionable insights through compelling visualisation and storytelling techniques. • Implement best practices for data modeling, performance tuning, and security in BI solutions. • Work closely with business users to gather requirements and ensure solutions meet objectives. • Stay current with emerging Power BI and Microsoft Fabric features and recommend enhancements. Essential Skills & Experience • Proven expertise in Power BI, including advanced DAX, data modeling, and report optimisation. • Strong experience with Microsoft Fabric, including Lakehouses, Dataflows, and integration capabilities. • Demonstrable ability to design high-quality visualisation dashboards for senior stakeholders. • Solid understanding of data governance, security, and compliance in public sector environments. • Hands-on experience in performance tuning of BI solutions. • Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills.
