Role description
The Business Intelligence Developer is responsible for developing and supporting front-end / user facing solutions and datasets utilized in reporting, analytics, or embedded within other applications. The position will also perform data analysis, create semantic models in snowflake and PowerBI, partner with team members and business stakeholders, and provide support for special projects.
Position Responsibilities May Include, But Not Limited To
β’ Design, create, and maintain interactive, user friendly, reporting tools to provide actionable insights to end users.
β’ Extract, transform, and load data from various sources into data models. Sources include databases, semantic models, flat files, spreadsheets and other structured and unstructured data sources.
β’ Optimize queries and data models aligned with BI strategy.
β’ Perform data analysis for QA, and to identify trends, patterns and insights that can support decision making processes.
β’ Communicate with other BI team members and cross-IT staff on support and project activities.
β’ Assist with task identification and effort estimates for reporting development.
β’ Assist with risk and issue identification.
β’ Enrich experience of our business partners interacting with our data through use of drill downs, filters, and visualizations.
β’ Ensure solutions comply with security and authentication standards of the organization.
β’ Other projects or duties as assigned.
Required Skills and Experience:
β’ Bachelorβs Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related discipline and 2-4+ years of related experience OR High School Diploma and 5-6+ years of related experience
β’ 2+ years of Power BI experience, including experience with Data Set creation and utilizing DAX.
β’ Proficient in developing Microsoft Power BI reports and dashboards as well as data connection and transformation capabilities of Power BI.
β’ Experience writing complex SQL code.
β’ Strong problem solving and analytical skills.
β’ Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
β’ Proficient in Microsoft Office.
β’ This position must pass a post-offer background and drug test.
Preferred Skills and Experience:
β’ Experience with Snowflake.
β’ Microsoft Azure experience.
β’ Knowledge of data warehousing and data ingestion and modeling concepts.
β’ Experience w/ other BI, Analytics, or Data Science tools.
