Big Data Developer
18 Month W2 Contract
Jersey City- Hybrid 3 days onsite
$60-$68/hour
Building an Analytics platform for the CFO Group within Global Markets Business on the Hadoop infrastructure. This is the Granite-Valuation Control Analytics Platform.
• Responsible for creating a Finance Data Lake on HDFS
• Develop data transfer tools to replicate data from no-sql datastore to the DataLake
• Create ETL jobs using PySpark
• Build REST web services and APIs that can be used by internal Quantitative team
• Participating fully in the development process through the entire software lifecycle and Agile software development process
Must Haves / Required Skills:
• 6+ years of Big Data experience on HDFS, Impala, PySpark handling Petabytes of data.
• 3+ years of Python experience
• Experience in designing and tuning SQL database tables/queries is required.
• Skilled in designing and developing in an object-oriented environment with any OO language is required. (i.e. Java, C++, C#, etc.)
• Experience doing test-driven development, functional testing and continuous integration is desirable.
• Prior financial industry experience, specficially working ontrading platforms is highly desirable for joining this team
Skills/Experience that are a plus
• Experience with grid computing and high data volume
• Experience with object-oriented database
• Experience with financial instruments and Price Verification processes
