Big Data Developer
Location: New York City - Hybrid Onsite / Remote 2-3 Days
Rate: $70.00 - $75.00/hr W2 + Benefits
Duration: 12 Months+ Renewable Contract
β’ MUST HAVE ACTIMIZE PLATFORM AND FINANCIAL CRIMES EXPERIENCE
β’ Bright Minds is seeking a highly skilled Senior Big Data Developer to join our industry leading client's Financial Crime Technology team in the NYC area. This hybrid position will be instrumental in designing and delivering next-generation solutions that power transaction monitoring, customer activity review, and financial crime prevention across our global organization. You will work at the intersection of big data engineering, regulatory technology, and innovation, collaborating with senior stakeholders and global technology teams to influence strategy and drive impactful solutions.
In this role, you will deliver high-quality code for a large-scale big data platform, translating business needs into innovative technology solutions. Youβll collaborate with stakeholders to define strategy, document designs in Agile (SCRUM) standards, and perform data analysis to support development. You will build and test solutions within automated frameworks, leverage DevOps for seamless releases, and work with global teams to optimize performance and drive transformation initiatives.
Requirements for the Big Data Developer
β’ 3+ years of hands-on Scala/Spark development experience.
β’ Strong SQL expertise with RDBMS (DB2) databases.
β’ 2+ years of experience working with HDFS platform development.
β’ Solid understanding of Actimize ACTONE platform features.
β’ Proven ability to optimize code for performance, scalability, and configurability.
β’ Proficiency in data analysis, profiling, and lineage tracking.
β’ Excellent communication skills with experience working in Agile projects.
β’ Background in Anti-Money Laundering (AML) or financial crime prevention.
β’ Experience with Actimize Suspicious Activity Monitoring (SAM) and CTR solutions.
β’ Knowledge of data visualization tools (e.g., Tableau).
β’ Familiarity with Behavior Driven Development (BDD) practices.
β’ Exposure to Machine Learning or predictive analytics is a plus.
