Overview
Our client, a leading firm undertaking a significant technology transformation, is seeking a Senior SDET (Software Development Engineer in Test) with expertise in Big Data ETL testing. This critical role focuses on ensuring the quality and integrity of data as legacy mainframe applications are migrated to a modern AWS cloud platform. You will be instrumental in developing, modifying, and executing comprehensive test plans and automated scripts to ensure new features developed in AWS meet all application requirements and maintain consistent outcomes. • Design, develop, and execute test plans and test cases for Big Data ETL processes.
• Perform thorough ETL validation, ensuring data integrity and accuracy during migration from mainframe to AWS.
• Develop and maintain test automation scripts using Selenium with Java or Python.
• Collaborate closely with development engineers and platform engineers to identify and resolve software defects and roadblocks.
• Participate in Agile release train PR planning meetings and other team collaboration sessions, which may require on-site presence.
• Analyze complex requirements, identify test data needs, and ensure functionality meets specified criteria.
• Document test results, report defects, and contribute to software design reviews.
• Guide and mentor junior testers.
Required Skills & Experience
• Bachelor's Degree in Information Technology, Engineering, or Computer Science, or an additional 4 years of relevant work experience in lieu of a degree.
• 5+ years of experience in software development and/or testing, with a strong focus on Big Data ETL testing.
• Hands-on experience with AWS services including S3 and Redshift.
• Proficient in test automation using Selenium with either Java or Python.
• Strong SQL skills are a must-have, with experience working with various databases, including legacy systems like DB2 and modern ones like PostgreSQL Aurora.
• Solid understanding of the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) and software test requirements/protocols.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with a strong ability to collaborate effectively in a fast-paced environment.
• Ability to recognize, analyze, and solve a variety of problems with attention to detail.
• Ability to trace data from STTMs.
• Knowledge of Data validation, cleansing and standardization.
• Proficient in writing complex queries.
• Experience working with Bigdata or any RDMS data bases.
• Experience in Java Scripting or any scripting language for test automation.
• Familiarity with Test automation frameworks for data testing.
• Understanding of CI/CD pipelines
Preferred Qualifications
• Prior experience in the healthcare industry.
• Experience with Ab Initio for data ingestion and extract production.
