Role: Big Query DBA Job Description • 8+ years as a data warehouse engineer or dba. • 3+ years of hands-on bigquery administration in production. • Map teradata ddls and data types to bigquery-optimized partitioning and clustering schemas. • refactor legacy teradata bteq scripts and sql logic into bigquery standard sql and stored procedures. • optimize query performance and slot utilization to manage costs for migrated workloads. • configure bigquery slot reservations and workload management to replicate teradata capacity. • perform data validation, row-count reconciliations, and checksums between teradata and gcp. • establish query guardrails and project-level quotas to manage spend during migration phases. • strong sql performance tuning and query optimization skills. • hands-on experience with Gcp services: bigquery, composer/airflow, dataflow, cloud storage, monitoring/logging. • experience with edw platform migrations and enterprise-scale data engineering. • strong knowledge of iam, security controls, networking basics, and DR strategies. • experience with scripting (python/bash) and automation.
