Must haves:
• PhD or Master’s degree in pharmaceutical sciences, analytical chemistry, chemistry or related disciplines with relevant bioanalysis experience from industry or academia required. (Fellowship work can be counted as relevant experience, but preference will be given to a scientist with CRO bioanalysis experience)
• Hands-on experience in diverse mass spectrometric workflows such as high-resolution and triple quadrupole mass spectrometry to characterize and quantify drugs and their metabolites via in vitro and in vivo assays.
• Expertise in LC-MS-based bioanalysis method development, method validation, and sample analysis. Experience with Sciex Analyst™, OS, Xcalibur™, and/or other Mass Spectrometry data-acquisition software packages
• Previous knowledge of oligonucleotide and or protein bioanalysis would be a major advantage.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills; Excellent organizational and time management abilities; Proficiency in data analysis/interpretation and effective communication/teamwork skills.
Purpose:
The Client’s Nucleic Acid Research (NAR) department is seeking an experienced bioanalytical scientist specializing in LC-MS based pharmacokinetics (PK), biodistribution analysis, metabolite identification and/or biomarker assay development to join the Bioanalysis &ADME team. You will help to further develop and implement our bioanalytical and biomarker strategies to assist in the optimization of our GalXC™ and GalXC-Plus™ platforms. It is highly desired that you will have experience in applying diverse mass spectrometric workflows such as triple quadrupole and high-resolution mass spectrometry to characterize and quantify drug and its metabolites via in vitro and in vivo assays. Experience in the bioanalysis and quantitation of pharmaceuticals in biological matrices and familiarity with oligonucleotide bioanalysis would be a major advantage.
Reports to Director, RNAi Bioanalysis & ADME
Essential functions:
• Develop advanced and robust LC-MS analytical methods for the bioanalysis of different molecular formats such as small molecules, oligonucleotides, peptides, and/or proteins.
• Develop and implement innovative high-resolution mass spectrometry-based metabolite profiling and identification platforms
• Perform LC-MS-based small molecule biomarker analysis occasionally
• Review and translate complex LC-MS-based data sets and articulate findings to project teams
• Maintain/document records of all experiments, including QC review data, experimental results, and reports as appropriate into electronic laboratory notebooks
• Contribute to the team’s knowledge through updating scientific literature and discussions
• Maintain and troubleshoot lab instruments such as biological sample extraction systems, HPLC, and LC-MS
Qualifications:
• PhD or Master’s degree in pharmaceutical sciences, analytical chemistry, chemistry, biochemistry or related disciplines with relevant experience from industry or academia required. (Fellowship work can be counted as relevant experience, but preference will be given to a scientist with CRO bioanalysis experience)
• See top of JD for required years of experience by level
• Demonstrable superior laboratory skills in biological sample extraction, chromatography, and/or quantitative/qualitative Mass Spectrometry.
• Experience with bioanalysis of different molecular formats such as small molecules, peptides, oligonucleotides and/or proteins.
Preferred
• Experience with LC-MS-based ADME and/or bioanalytical assays
• Experience with Sciex Analyst™, OS, Xcalibur™ and/or other Mass Spectrometry data-acquisition software packages
• Knowledge of guidance for industry bioanalytical method validation
