Job Summary

Role Overview
This role supports assay development for next-generation sequencing (NGS)-based viral detection. The analyst will transform bash and Python scripts into modular Nextflow pipelines and contribute to bioinformatics workflow improvements using high-throughput sequencing data.
Key Responsibilities
• Develop modular workflows using Nextflow
• Translate and optimize existing Bash/Python scripts for viral detection pipelines
• Analyze NGS data using tools like BLAST, STAR, Bowtie, and samtools
• Provide recommendations for workflow design improvements
• Maintain detailed documentation and report updates regularly
• Collaborate with project managers and lab scientists to integrate workflows
Qualifications
• Bachelor’s degree in Bioinformatics, Computational Biology, Computer Science, or related field (Master’s or Ph.D. preferred)
• 1–3+ years experience in bioinformatics and NGS workflow development
• Proficiency in Nextflow, Bash, Python, and HPC/cloud environments
• Strong version control (Git/GitHub) and documentation skills
Pay And Benefits
The pay range for this position is $31.00 - $43.00/hr.
