Role description
Founding Blockchain Architect (Part-Time, Token/Equity Only — Pre-Funding)
Company: SocialBlock, Inc. (Delaware C-Corp)
Location: Remote (global)
Commitment: ~3–8 hrs/week to start
About SocialBlock
SocialBlock is an AI-native Layer-1 blockchain purpose-built for decentralized reputation, identity, and SocialFi. We’re engineering ARP (AI Reputation Proof) to weight consensus by verified reputation (not just stake), paired with zkID for privacy-preserving identity and token-gated social tooling across the open web.
The Role (What you’ll own)
• Chain architecture: Own L1 design and implementation (Cosmos SDK/CometBFT or equivalent), P2P, mempool, tx lifecycle, state model, and performance/scalability trade-offs.
• Consensus & reputation: Prototype and harden ARP (trust-weighted consensus): scoring pipelines, validator selection/weighting, slashing, and game-theory analysis.
• Identity & privacy: Integrate zkID/DID/VC standards (W3C), proof generation/verification flows, and privacy-preserving attestations (zk-SNARK/PLONK/Halo2 or similar).
• Security: Threat modeling, keys/validator ops, slashing conditions, circuit and contract audits, formal verification strategy, and incident response runbooks.
• Devnet → testnet: Stand up Dockerized local devnet, public testnet, seed nodes, telemetry, observability, and CI/CD (GitHub Actions).
• Ecosystem plumbing: Indexer + explorer data model, RPC/REST/gRPC, SDKs (JS/TS/Go/Rust), and compatibility with wallets/relayers/IBC.
• Token economics: Staking, inflation/fees, delegation, emissions, validator incentives, and reputation-weighted governance design in collaboration with tokenomics/legal.
You might be a fit if you have
• 5–8+ years in distributed systems/crypto; 3+ years building production blockchain infra (Cosmos SDK/CometBFT/Tendermint, Substrate, or similar).
• Strong Go and/or Rust; deep understanding of consensus, networking, state machines, and validator economics.
• Hands-on with ZK (circuits/provers), DID/VCs, wallet key mgmt, and privacy patterns.
• Shipped devnets/testnets, led mainnet-readiness workstreams, and interfaced with auditors.
• Product sense for SocialFi/identity use cases and the discipline to document decisions and trade-offs.
Nice-to-haves
• IBC/bridge design, data-availability layers, MPC/threshold schemes.
• Experience with Ceramic/IDX, IPFS, Supabase/Pinecone or analogous data layers.
• Prior work on validator operations or running community testnets.
What we offer (pre-funding stage)
• Meaningful upside: Equity and/or future token rights with standard vesting and a cliff (final structure via Advisor/Consulting Agreement, Option/Equity Plan, and/or SAFT/TIA).
• Founder-level impact: You’ll set core architecture and standards that the network and developer ecosystem will follow.
• Flexibility: Low weekly hours initially; scale up post-funding.
Important notes (read before applying)
• This is not a salaried role at this stage; there is no cash compensation until after we raise capital.
• Engagement is as an independent contractor/advisor; no employment benefits are provided pre-funding.
• Any token/equity consideration is subject to definitive agreements, vesting, performance/KPIs, and regulatory compliance. Token delivery (if any) occurs post-TGE and may be limited by jurisdiction. Nothing here is an offer to sell securities or tokens.
• KYC/AML and eligibility requirements may apply; US persons may receive equity until compliant token frameworks are in place.
How we hire
20-min intro call → 2) architecture deep-dive (bring a past L1/consensus project or design a minimal ARP module) → 3) mutual fit & references → 4) offer docs.
Apply
Send your LinkedIn/GitHub and two shipped systems you’re proud of to brandon@socialblock.io

Include a short note on: (a) your view on reputation-weighted consensus, (b) your preferred stack (Go/Rust), and (c) earliest start date and weekly availability.
