Bloomberg Economics - Country Risk Data Analyst (12 Months Contract) Location London Business Area Research Ref # 10046624 Description & Requirements With close to 50 economists and 200 economics and government reporters worldwide, Bloomberg has an outstanding capacity to explain where the world is economically and politically, where it might be heading, and the ways in which geopolitical and economic forces interact. Bloomberg Economics already offers a comprehensive macroeconomic research service for Terminal subscribers. That includes detailed forecasts, supported by thorough and original thematic research. We are seeking a data analyst to join our team to help build country-risk indicators for a period of 12 months. The successful candidate will contribute to the development of country risk indices. We’ll Trust You To β€’ Build a range of country-level risk indices using large datasets, in collaboration with other colleagues in Bloomberg Economics. β€’ Build solutions to keep those indices up to date using APIs and automated scripts β€’ Contribute to the development of visualization tools to display those indices β€’ From time to time, collaborate with our Geoeconomics team to publish analysis featuring the country risk indices on the Bloomberg Terminal You’ll Need To Have β€’ Experience working with Python to analyze large datasets, call APIs and visualize data in charts and dashboards β€’ Experience collaborating on data projects as part of a team using Git β€’ Basic knowledge of software engineering best practices (e.g., writing maintainable and scalable code, testing, code review…) β€’ English proficiency β€’ Academic or professional experience of applying statistical and econometric methods to analyzing data β€’ Experience applying quantitative methods to topics related to political science, environmental science or economics We’d Love To See β€’ Degree in political science or economics β€’ Experience automating scripts using Apache Airflow β€’ Experience with other programming languages, especially R β€’ Some professional experience is a plus, but recent graduates with a proven track record of collaborating on data analysis projects (as a research assistant for example) are also welcome to apply If This Sounds Like You Please apply and you'll be notified on the next steps.
