Budget & Reporting Analyst (HYBRID – Portland, OR.)
Our client, a leading Pacific Northwest utility provider committed to public service and environmental preservation, is looking for Budget Analyst for their Portland, Oregon location. The role assists managers and budget liaisons with budget actions such as transfers and accrual reports, helps administer budgets, and contributes to process improvement initiatives and special projects. Budget Operations ensure budgets align with organizational strategy. The team provides cost management guidance, tracks actual and forecasted results, supports expense and capital planning, advises on accounting adjustments, and administers budgeting and forecasting systems to enable effective financial planning and cost control.
This position is a one-year renewable contract that includes employee benefits!
Pay Rate: $51.00 - $54.00/hr. DOE.
Location: Portland, OR.
Hybrid: 1-2 days/wk. onsite.
Key Responsibilities for Budget Analyst:
- Serve as the primary contact for tracking and reporting program budgets, forecasts, and expenditures.
- Maintain and reconcile budgets, transfers, carryovers, and balances.
- Perform QA/QC on work products and communications to ensure compliance with Finance policies.
- Resolve discrepancies with partners and escalate issues as needed.
- Document administrative activities and maintain records in relevant systems.
- Provide updates, reports, and analyses to support budget management.
- Participate in team and departmental meetings, providing notes, data, and budget insights.
- Support managers and Budget Liaisons in administering budgets and applying policies.
- Assist with special projects, cost analyses, process improvements, and potential savings initiatives.
- Develop and maintain budget processes, procedures, and documentation.
- Gather, verify, and analyze financial information; prepare reports comparing actuals to budgets.
- Serve as a resource for team members and stakeholders, providing guidance, training, and documentation on budget tools and procedures.
Requirements/Qualification for Budget Analyst:
- AA or BA in Finance, Accounting, Economics, Business Administration, or related field preferred.
- Bachelor’s: 6 years; Associate’s: 8 years; No degree: 10+ years relevant experience.
- Must have experience in budget reporting, analysis, and preparation.
- 6+ years’ experience: Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, Word, Data entry and database experience.
- Valid U.S. driver’s license.
Preferred:
- SharePoint familiarity.
- Experience with Asset Suite or other business process systems.
- Experience with budgets, invoices, and customer data.
