Business Analyst

Business Analyst | £700 per day (Inside IR35) | London | 2 days in Office | 6-Month Initial Contract Industry: Commodities Trading Location: London Job Type: Contract (6 months initial) Our client within the commodities trading sector is seeking a Business Analyst to support electronic trading solutions, primarily across the pre-trade lifecycle. The role involves working closely with Front Office stakeholders and technology teams to translate business requirements into deliverable backlog items. Responsibilities: • Gather and analyse business requirements across commodity trading workflows. • Translate requirements into Epics, Features, and User Stories. • Work closely with developers, architects, and Product Owners within an Agile/Scrum environment. • Define Definition of Ready and Definition of Done. • Support unit, QA, and regression testing, including test strategy and test case creation. • Contribute to solution design and integration with in-house and vendor systems. Required Skills & Experience: • Strong Agile/Scrum experience. • Solid understanding of investment banking/capital markets. • Knowledge of commodity derivatives (pricing, risk, trade lifecycle). • Proven end-to-end business analysis experience. • Strong understanding of SDLC and CI/CD pipelines. • Experience defining and executing test plans and regression testing. • Good SQL knowledge and strong Excel skills. Desirable Experience: • Front Office exposure. • Electronic trading platforms experience (commodities preferred). • Cloud exposure (Azure/AWS). • Familiarity with financial data formats (XML, FPML, FIX, JSON).
