Business Analyst

Position Overview: We are seeking a highly skilled and dynamic Business Analyst to support project scoping, bridge communication between stakeholders and technical teams, and drive effective solutions in an energy or manufacturing setting, ideally in a plant environment. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record of acting as a conduit between business stakeholders and data scientists, possess hands-on experience writing requirements, business documents, and leading project tracking efforts, and demonstrate proficiency in Agile methodologies including Scrum Master duties. Key Responsibilities: Project Scoping: • Collaborate with stakeholders to understand project objectives and requirements. • Analyze business needs and identify opportunities for digital transformation and process improvement. Stakeholder Engagement & Communication: • Serve as the primary liaison between business teams and technical experts such as data scientists. • Facilitate cross-functional collaboration between stakeholders and ensure alignment on objectives and deliverables. Requirement Gathering & Documentation: • Write detailed business requirements, technical specifications, and project documentation. • Develop comprehensive business process models, use cases, and business documents to inform project scope and execution. Project Tracking & Prioritization: • Manage and track project progress, ensuring timelines, deliverables, and milestones are met. • Prioritize tasks and development sprints based on stakeholder needs and technical feasibility. Agile Methodology & Scrum Master Duties: • Lead Agile project management efforts, including sprint planning, backlog grooming, and daily stand-ups. • Facilitate Scrum ceremonies and drive continuous improvement across development cycles. Collaboration with Data Science Teams: • Partner with data scientists to translate business objectives into actionable data insights and solutions. • Ensure effective communication and alignment between technical outputs and business outcomes. Industry Knowledge: • Apply expertise in energy or manufacturing settings, with experience working in plant environments, to address industry-specific challenges and opportunities. Documentation & Reporting: • Maintain accurate project documentation and ensure transparency through reporting to stakeholders and leadership teams. • Provide strategic recommendations based on project data and analytical insights. Skills & Qualifications: • Proven experience as a Business Analyst, ideally in an energy or manufacturing sector (plant environment preferred). • Strong understanding of Agile principles, with hands-on experience in Scrum Master roles. • Demonstrated ability to work with data scientists and technical teams to drive actionable results. • Proficiency in writing business requirements, creating business models, and tracking project deliverables. • Familiarity with project management tools (e.g., Jira, Trello, MS Project) and documentation tools. • Exceptional stakeholder management skills and ability to facilitate cross-functional collaboration. • Agile certifications such as Certified Scrum Master (CSM) or SAFe® certification preferred.
