Business Analyst

Our client, a major performing rights organization that manages licensing and royalty distributions for over a million music creators, is seeking a Business Analyst to join their team on a contracting basis in NYC. This organization plays a critical role in the music industry by ensuring songwriters and publishers are compensated whenever their work is performed publicly. You will be joining a 13-member team focused on survey and distribution systems for essential internal applications. Title: Business Analyst Location: Midtown NYC (3x per week onsite, 2 days remote) Hours: 40 hours per week Pay Range: $60 - $65/hour W2 only Duration: Ongoing contract Job Responsibilities • Interface with stakeholders to gather and document technical requirements for internal survey and distribution systems. • Operate within a Scrum/Agile environment to ensure project milestones and sprint goals are met. • Execute SQL queries to analyze data and validate system functionality. • Handle file formatting tasks, including opening and inspecting various file structures to ensure data integrity. • Collaborate with a mid-sized technical team to optimize internal application performance. Required Qualifications • 8+ years of professional experience as a Business Analyst. • Bachelor’s degree is required. • Technical proficiency with MS SQL and PostgreSQL is required. • Hands-on experience working within an AWS environment. • Strong understanding of file formatting, file inspection, and data structures. • Previous experience in Agile/Scrum methodologies. • Experience with Oracle Database is a plus.
