About The Role The Employee Safety Data Analyst plays a vital role within Michigan Medicine’s Safety Management Services team. This position is responsible for leading the collection, analysis, automation, and visualization of safety and regulatory compliance data. The analyst will serve as a departmental expert for Smartsheet and will work closely with various internal departments to enhance safety processes, reporting systems, and data-driven decision-making. This role requires a proactive approach to monitoring safety compliance, supporting hospital-wide safety initiatives, and translating complex data into actionable insights to foster a culture of safety and continuous improvement across the organization. Qualifications • Bachelor’s degree in a science-related field such as public health, health sciences, environmental science, biology, or a related discipline • Four or more years of experience in data analysis • One to two years of experience in safety, occupational health, healthcare operations, or related settings • One to two years of experience with Smartsheet or similar data and reporting tools • Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills • Excellent written and verbal communication abilities Responsibilities • Develop, maintain, and enhance dashboards using Smartsheet and Tableau to analyze compliance data and safety culture metrics • Create routine and ad hoc reports, providing insights and recommendations based on data analysis • Serve as the primary Smartsheet resource for the department, offering troubleshooting, guidance, and best practices • Assist with technical issues related to data systems and perform detailed data analysis as needed • Collaborate with internal departments to improve the quality, consistency, and accuracy of safety data reporting • Manage projects aimed at improving hospital safety, tracking progress, and evaluating outcomes • Automate root cause analysis processes to enhance efficiency and consistency of safety investigations • Support safety culture and compliance initiatives by translating data into actionable insights and recommendations • Collect, organize, and maintain safety equipment and room records utilizing GIS data and physical walkthroughs of hospital facilities • Ensure the integrity and accuracy of safety-related records across multiple systems, adhering to Michigan Medicine policies on data privacy and confidentiality Benefits • Competitive salary and comprehensive health benefits • Opportunities for professional development and career advancement • Flexible work arrangements including hybrid or remote options where applicable • Generous paid time off and leave policies • Access to state-of-the-art facilities and resources • Supportive work environment focused on diversity, equity, and inclusion Equal Opportunity Michigan Medicine is an equal employment opportunity employer.
