Job Title: Business Analyst
Duration: Long-term contract with option to hire
Location: Irving, TX (Monday - Wednesday on-site, and Thursday - Friday remote)
Position Overview:
The Business Analyst will play a critical role within the Technology team, supporting product and project initiatives by representing the voice of the customer. This role involves identifying and eliciting requirements from cross-functional stakeholders and collaborating closely with Product Managers to build and maintain product backlogs. The Business Analyst will document detailed requirements, create supporting artifacts, and ensure that engineering, quality assurance (QA), and user acceptance testing (UAT) teams have the necessary details to deliver on the product roadmap. By focusing on continuous improvement, this role ensures our products consistently add value to customers.
Primary Responsibilities:
β’ Demonstrate strong business acumen by eliciting business requirements from various stakeholders and effectively representing the needs of both the business and the customer.
β’ Write requirements in the form of user stories that align with business and technical goals.
β’ Understand and facilitate data exchange between systems (internal or external) via APIs and use tools like Postman for API testing and validation.
β’ Refine and clarify requirements by creating process maps, wireframes, mockups, and other artifacts to communicate effectively with stakeholders.
β’ Lead sessions and present findings confidently across all organizational levels with excellent communication skills.
β’ Build trusted partnerships with cross-functional stakeholders, fostering collaboration and alignment.
β’ Leverage technical acumen to communicate effectively with engineering teams and assess technical trade-offs.
β’ Facilitate grooming and clarification sessions to ensure engineering, QA, and UAT teams have detailed, actionable requirements.
β’ Collaborate with Product Managers to execute the product roadmap, capturing business needs and translating them into development-ready artifacts.
β’ Identify and document defects or improvement opportunities, converting them into prioritized backlog items.
β’ Partner with UX teams to translate research and design into actionable user stories.
β’ Work with UAT teams to validate delivered products against business objectives and launch criteria.
β’ Build professional relationships with key stakeholders, including brand presidents, senior leadership, external contacts, and internal departments.
β’ Maintain and utilize "paperless" document management systems effectively.
β’ Ensure confidentiality of sensitive information.
β’ Act as a trusted resource, demonstrating professionalism and reliability in all interactions.
β’ Perform other duties as assigned.
Required Attributes:
β’ Ability to juggle multiple responsibilities in a high-volume, fast-paced environment while maintaining organization and meeting deadlines.
β’ Provide business analyst support for large transformational projects, including leading workshops, process mapping, and gap analysis.
β’ Exhibit proactive critical thinking and make customer- and business-focused decisions.
β’ Operate autonomously as a self-starter with minimal supervision.
β’ Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Visio, PowerPoint, Excel, and Outlook.
β’ Remain calm under pressure and consistently meet deadlines.
β’ Physical capability to lift a minimum of 25 lbs.
β’ A good sense of humor to navigate challenges positively.
Education & Experience:
β’ Education: Bachelorβs degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Systems Engineering, or a related field preferred.
β’ Experience: 3-4 years of business analyst experience.
β’ Familiarity with tools such as Azure DevOps, JIRA, or similar preferred.
β’ Experience working within agile delivery models preferred.
β’ Collaboration with product management teams is a plus.
