Business Analyst - Edinburgh (Hybrid) - £41,064 Fixed Term Contract
Lorien's Public Sector team is currently supporting a key public sector client in the search for experienced Business Analysts to join their Strategic Change Service.
This is an excellent opportunity for Business Analysts with a strong background in business transformation, process improvement and change delivery to work on a portfolio of strategic projects and programmes
These roles are based in Edinburgh, with hybrid working arrangements
We are recruiting multiple positions for this on a £41,064 per year Fixed Term Contract
Key Responsibilities
• Gather, analyse and document business requirements across complex change initiatives
• Map current and future state business processes and identify opportunities for improvement
• Facilitate workshops and stakeholder engagement sessions to understand business needs
• Conduct gap analysis, impact assessments and options appraisals to support decision making
• Work closely with Project Managers, Programme Managers and business stakeholders to shape solutions
• Support organisational change and transformation activities across multiple projects
• Develop user journeys and ensure proposed solutions align with business objectives
• Produce high-quality business analysis documentation and deliverables
• Build effective relationships with stakeholders across all levels of the organisation
• Support testing, pilot activities and solution validation to ensure requirements are met
• Contribute to project reporting and governance activities
• Support continuous improvement of business analysis practices and frameworks
Key Skills & Experience
• Significant experience delivering Business Analysis activities within complex projects or programmes
• Strong requirements gathering, documentation and management experience
• Proven process mapping, process redesign and business improvement expertise
• Experience facilitating workshops and engaging diverse stakeholder groups
• Strong stakeholder management and relationship-building skills
• Experience undertaking business impact analysis, gap analysis and options analysis
• Ability to translate business needs into clear and actionable requirements
• Excellent communication, presentation and documentation skills
• Experience working within structured project, programme or change environments
• Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities
• Ability to work independently with limited supervision
• Degree qualified or equivalent professional experience
Desirable Experience
• BCS Business Analysis, AgileBA, CBAP or equivalent Business Analysis qualification
• Experience within Higher Education, Public Sector, Charity or Not-for-Profit organisations
• Exposure to large-scale business transformation programmes
• Experience working alongside project management and change management teams
• Knowledge of change management methodologies such as Prosci
• Experience with process modelling and workshop facilitation tools including Visio, Miro, Jira or Azure DevOps
• Project Management or Change Management qualifications would be beneficial
