Role description
A financial services company in New York City is actively seeking a new Business Analyst to join their team.
About the Opportunity:
• Start Date: ASAP
• Assignment Length: 12 months (with likely extensions)
• Setting: Hybrid (3 days a week onsite)
Responsibilities:
• Develop detailed user stories and epics for post-trade processing enhancements across multiple asset classes
• Analyze and document current state workflows for trade confirmation, settlement, and reconciliation processes
• Design optimized future state processes leveraging AI and automation capabilities
• Create comprehensive desktop procedures for operations teams following AI implementation
• Collaborate with Post-Trade Operations teams to identify bottlenecks and efficiency opportunities
• Support testing and validation of new processes to ensure regulatory compliance
• Work with technology partners to translate business requirements into technical specifications
• Document exception handling procedures and escalation protocols
• Ensure smooth integration between front office systems and post-trade infrastructure
• Analyze and improve trade lifecycle events including amendments, cancellations, and corporate actions
Qualifications:
• 2+ years of Business Analysis experience in a Capital Markets and/or Investment Banking setting
• Bachelor's Degree in Finance, Business, Computer Science, or related field
• Strong domain expertise in Post-Trade Operations and Settlement processes
• Proven Agile experience with User Story and Epic Development (non-negotiable)
• Comprehensive understanding of trade lifecycle from execution through settlement
• Experience with Confirmations, Allocations, and Matching processes
• Knowledge of Regulatory requirements affecting Post-Trade Operations
• Demonstrated ability to analyze complex procedures and create clear documentation
Desired Skills:
• Experience with Derivatives Processing and Lifecycle events
• Knowledge of Clearing platforms (DTCC, Euroclear, Clearstream)
• Familiarity with Settlement instruction workflows
• Solod understanding of Fails Management and Buy-in Processes
• Experience with AI/ML implementation in Financial Services
• Knowledge of Microsoft Copilot or similar platforms
• Fixed Income and/or Equities Post-Trade experience
