Role description
A financial services company in New York City is actively seeking a new Business Analyst to join their team.
About the Opportunity:
β’ Start Date: ASAP
β’ Assignment Length: 12 months (with likely extensions)
β’ Setting: Hybrid (3 days a week onsite)
Responsibilities:
β’ Develop detailed user stories and epics for post-trade processing enhancements across multiple asset classes
β’ Analyze and document current state workflows for trade confirmation, settlement, and reconciliation processes
β’ Design optimized future state processes leveraging AI and automation capabilities
β’ Create comprehensive desktop procedures for operations teams following AI implementation
β’ Collaborate with Post-Trade Operations teams to identify bottlenecks and efficiency opportunities
β’ Support testing and validation of new processes to ensure regulatory compliance
β’ Work with technology partners to translate business requirements into technical specifications
β’ Document exception handling procedures and escalation protocols
β’ Ensure smooth integration between front office systems and post-trade infrastructure
β’ Analyze and improve trade lifecycle events including amendments, cancellations, and corporate actions
Qualifications:
β’ 2+ years of Business Analysis experience in a Capital Markets and/or Investment Banking setting
β’ Bachelor's Degree in Finance, Business, Computer Science, or related field
β’ Strong domain expertise in Post-Trade Operations and Settlement processes
β’ Proven Agile experience with User Story and Epic Development (non-negotiable)
β’ Comprehensive understanding of trade lifecycle from execution through settlement
β’ Experience with Confirmations, Allocations, and Matching processes
β’ Knowledge of Regulatory requirements affecting Post-Trade Operations
β’ Demonstrated ability to analyze complex procedures and create clear documentation
Desired Skills:
β’ Experience with Derivatives Processing and Lifecycle events
β’ Knowledge of Clearing platforms (DTCC, Euroclear, Clearstream)
β’ Familiarity with Settlement instruction workflows
β’ Solod understanding of Fails Management and Buy-in Processes
β’ Experience with AI/ML implementation in Financial Services
β’ Knowledge of Microsoft Copilot or similar platforms
β’ Fixed Income and/or Equities Post-Trade experience
