Experience: 8+Years
We are seeking a Business Analyst (BA) with expertise in Alternate Investments to partner with operations, technology, and wealth management teams in streamlining and automating the end-to-end lifecycle of private market investments.
This role will focus on analyzing current-state processes, identifying inefficiencies, defining requirements for automation/technology solutions, and supporting the integration of alternate investment data into core wealth management platforms.
The ideal candidate will combine domain knowledge in alternative investments with business analysis and technology skills to deliver process improvements, data standardization, and digital transformation.
Key Responsibilities

• Work with stakeholders (advisors, ops, fund administrators, custodians, technology teams) to gather and document requirements.
• Solution Design & Automation
• Define business and functional requirements for workflow automation, data integration, and reporting improvements.
• Collaborate with developers/tech teams to design solutions (APIs, RPA, workflow tools, data feeds).
• Create use cases, user stories, acceptance criteria, and test plans.
• Data & Reporting Standardization
• Work on standardizing fund data ingestion from managers/custodians (capital calls, NAVs, distributions).
• Support integration into portfolio accounting & client reporting platforms (Advent, SEI, Envestnet, Orion, etc.).
• Ensure performance metrics (IRR, DPI, TVPI) are accurately captured and reported.
• Change Management & Implementation
• Partner with operations teams to transition manual processes to automated workflows.
• Provide training/documentation for new systems and processes.
• Monitor adoption and continuously identify enhancement opportunities.
• Risk, Compliance & Controls
• Ensure automation solutions align with compliance requirements (KYC/AML, accredited investor checks, regulatory reporting).
• Implement controls for data accuracy, exception handling, and audit trails.
Primary Skills & Qualifications
Domain Knowledge
• Strong understanding of alternate investments (private equity, hedge funds, private credit, real assets, structured products).
• Familiarity with fund structures, capital commitments, capital calls, NAV reporting, and carried interest/waterfall calculations.
• Business Analysis & Technology Skills
• Proven experience in business process analysis, requirements gathering, and workflow design.
• Experience with automation tools (RPA, workflow management platforms, APIs) and data integration projects.
• Strong SQL/data analysis skills; exposure to BI tools (Power BI, Tableau) preferred.
• Understanding of portfolio accounting and wealth management systems (Advent, SEI, Envestnet, Orion, etc.) is a plus.
Soft Skills
• Excellent documentation, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
• Ability to work cross-functionally with wealth managers, ops, technology, and compliance teams.
• Strong problem-solving and critical thinking mindset.
Preferred Background
• 4–8 years of experience as a Business Analyst in wealth management, fund administration, or financial services technology.
• Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Business, or related field; advanced degree or certifications (CAIA, CFA, or BA certifications like CBAP) preferred.
