Business Analyst – Appian

Job Title: Business Analyst – Appian Location :Jersey City, NJ About the Role We are seeking a strong Business Analyst with hands-on experience in Appian and exceptional analytical, documentation, and communication skills. The ideal candidate will collaborate closely with business stakeholders, technical teams, and project managers to gather, analyze, and translate business needs into clear, actionable technical requirements. Key Responsibilities Gather, document, and analyze business requirements and translate them into detailed functional specifications. Partner with stakeholders to understand business objectives, define project scope, and prioritize requirements. Collaborate with Appian developers to design and implement BPM workflows and process models. Create and maintain process flow diagrams, user stories, and use cases. Perform gap analysis and impact assessments for new or enhanced features. Conduct User Acceptance Testing (UAT) and assist in defect triage and resolution. Ensure alignment between business needs and technical solutions throughout the project lifecycle. Provide comprehensive documentation and ongoing support post-implementation. Required Skills & Experience 5+ years of experience as a Business Analyst in IT or financial services domains. Strong understanding of Business Process Management (BPM) tools, preferably Appian. Familiarity with Appian architecture, process modeling, and workflow design. Experience working in Agile/Scrum environments. Excellent communication, documentation, and stakeholder management skills. Proficiency in SQL, JIRA, Confluence, and MS Office tools. Prior experience in banking or financial services preferred. Nice to Have Appian certification or hands-on Appian development experience. Exposure to workflow automation, digital transformation, or process improvement initiatives.
