Business Analyst – Azure Cloud Migration
Location: Reading
Travel: Dublin on occasion
Duration: Initial 6 Months
Contract Type: Day Rate (Inside IR35)
We’re looking for an experienced Business Analyst to support a large‑scale Azure cloud migration and modernisation programme. You’ll act as the bridge between business stakeholders, architects, engineers, and security teams ensuring the migration delivers real business value, meets compliance requirements, and supports a smooth transition to cloud‑optimised operations.
What You’ll Do
• Lead requirements gathering and translate business needs into clear user stories and functional specs
• Analyse as‑is / to‑be processes across applications, integrations, and data flows
• Support application portfolio assessments, migration approaches, and business impact analysis
• Work closely with cloud architects to align requirements to Azure‑native solutions
• Capture non‑functional requirements including performance, resilience, DR, and compliance
• Support UAT, defect triage, and operational readiness for migrated services
• Produce documentation: process maps, migration guides, BRDs/FRDs, and handover materials
• Engage stakeholders across Technology, Security, Architecture, and the business
What You’ll Bring
• 5+ years’ experience as a Business Analyst, including cloud or infrastructure projects
• Strong understanding of Microsoft Azure concepts and migration strategies
• Experience with legacy modernisation, data‑centre exit, or cloud transformation
• Skilled in requirements management, process modelling, and stakeholder facilitation
• Comfortable discussing cloud, networking, and IaC concepts with engineers
• Experience working in Agile / SAFe or hybrid delivery environments
• Ability to translate technical detail into business‑friendly language
Nice to Have:
• Experience with Azure landing zones, DevOps/CI‑CD, or cloud operating models
• Exposure to regulated industries (FS/Insurance)
• Certifications such as Azure Fundamentals, Scrum, or CBAP
Why This Role Matters
You’ll play a key role in shaping how the organisation moves from legacy systems to a modern, secure, cloud‑optimised Azure environment—supporting scalability, resilience, and long‑term digital transformation.
