12+ month contract role - onsite in Boston office Monday-Wednesday
As a member of the IT group, the contract Senior Business Analyst will assume responsibility for supporting ongoing cashflow-related projects within the firmβs various Client Service, Operations, and Portfolio Construction Teams. This highly visible position will have direct exposure to many business groups and provide daily data analysis, application support, and project support for existing and new projects. The ideal candidate should have a strong background in business systems analysis, particularly within the financial services industry, and be adept at handling data analysis and mapping tasks. Additionally, this role requires strategic thinking for cross-team workflow implementations and experience with business process management (BPM) tools.
β’ Conduct analysis, data validation, and mapping; gather requirements and documentation.
β’ Understand business workflows, identify problems, and opportunities in the context of reporting requirements.
β’ Document incident findings to help build our data quality knowledge base.
β’ Conduct business and systems requirements analysis at code and data levels, such as data mapping and data conversion analysis.
β’ Adhere to internal software development life cycle methods.
β’ Research, test, and track business issues and software defects.
β’ Manage project tasks and communicate updates/status to stakeholders.
β’ Conduct effective meetings and foster technology dialog with business users.
β’ Think strategically about cross-team workflow implementations and improvements.
β’ Leverage experience with business process management (BPM) tools to enhance workflow efficiency.
Qualifications
β’ Minimum of 7-10 years of experience as an IT Business Systems Analyst in the financial services industry.
β’ Extensive experience in data analysis and mapping.
β’ In-depth understanding of cashflow workflows and related financial processes.
β’ Proven experience managing and dealing with software vendors.
β’ Advanced proficiency in SQL (Microsoft SQL Server).
β’ BNY accounting system implementation experience is a significant advantage.
β’ Expert-level skills in Visio and MS Office applications.
β’ Deep understanding of system development methodologies and techniques, with a strong grasp of database concepts and principles.
β’ Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills with a history of taking initiative and providing top-tier customer service.
β’ Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with a proven ability to handle complex issues.
β’ Ability to manage multiple tasks and projects simultaneously, exhibiting excellent organizational and problem-solving skills.
β’ Experience with business process management (BPM) tools and strategic workflow implementation.
