Business Analyst

Title: Business Analyst Location: Boston MA Type: Contract Length: 6 Months (Maternity Leave) Start: June Onsite: yes, 3 days a week Overview: As a Business Analyst, you'll act as the critical link between business stakeholders and engineering, owning requirements, shaping solutions, and ensuring successful delivery across the full SDLC. This role is ideal for someone who thrives in complex, data-driven environments and enjoys influencing both strategy and execution. What You'll Do: • Lead end-to-end requirements gathering, analysis, and solution design in partnership with business stakeholders and technical teams • Translate complex business needs into clear, actionable user stories with well-defined acceptance criteria (JIRA) • Act as the bridge between business and engineering, ensuring alignment and clarity throughout delivery • Analyze systems, workflows, and data to identify improvements and scalable solutions • Contribute to architecture and design discussions alongside architects and developers • Produce high-quality documentation (data flows, process diagrams, functional specs, workflows) • Support and participate in system testing, UAT, and validation of delivered solutions • Drive release readiness including demos, stakeholder communication, and documentation • Partner with cross-functional teams across multiple locations to deliver on-time, high-quality solutions What You Bring: • 3+ years of Business Analyst experience within software development environments • Strong experience with requirements gathering, solutioning, and SDLC delivery • Hands-on experience with Agile methodologies (Scrum/Kanban); Waterfall exposure a plus • Proficiency with JIRA and standard documentation tools (MS Office, Confluence, etc.) • Strong analytical mindset with the ability to break down complex problems • Excellent communication skills with both technical and non-technical audiences • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced, collaborative environment Nice to Have: • Experience in financial services, ETFs, or capital markets • Technical understanding of SQL, data models, or application architecture • Exposure to data warehousing and data domains • Experience with wireframing or prototyping tools • Client-facing experience in Agile delivery environments
