Role description
Role Overview
We are seeking an experienced Business Analyst to support the Commodities Technology team, with a strong focus on Agricultural/Soft commodities trading and risk management. This role involves close collaboration with Front Office, Quants, Market Risk, Middle Office, and Back Office teams to drive successful project delivery.
Key Responsibilities
• Partner with Front Office (Traders, Sales) and Quants to gather and refine business requirements
• Facilitate communication across business and technology stakeholders
• Document detailed requirements for financial and physical commodity trades (OTC & listed)
• Work with development teams to estimate effort and support delivery in an Agile/Scrum environment
• Define and execute test cases, supporting UAT and validation before production release
• Provide post-production support and assist in resolving critical issues
Required Domain Expertise
• Strong understanding of Commodities Trading, especially Agricultural/Soft commodities
• Knowledge of Derivatives: Futures, Forwards, Options, OTC products
• Familiarity with commodity exchanges such as ICE, CBOT, CME
• Understanding of physical trading lifecycle (inventory, leasing, financing, logistics)
Technical Skills
• Hands-on experience with Endur and/or Murex (trade capture, market data, simulations, EOD processing)
• Ability to write SQL queries for analysis and data validation
• Advanced Excel skills (formulas, pivots, macros)
• Experience working with Jira and Agile methodologies
Preferred Qualifications
• Experience working directly with trading desks and risk teams
• Strong analytical, communication, and stakeholder management skills
• Ability to work in a fast-paced, trading-focused environment
