Senior Business Analyst β Middle Office Platform Migration (Capital Markets)
We are seeking a Business Analyst with a strong background in Capital Markets middle office systems, who will play a critical role in a large-scale platform migration project. Our client is consolidating its current middle office platforms into a single, centralized platform.
This is a high-impact role for someone who understands the full trade lifecycle and can bridge business operations and technology. The ideal candidate brings strong product knowledge across equities, futures, options, and fixed income, along with hands-on experience in FIX messaging, data mapping, and functional programming tools. Weβre specifically looking for someone who is product- and process-oriented, not just pure operations or support. Candidates should be able to demonstrate real-world experience and a deep understanding of the trade lifecycle and middle office systems.
Key Responsibilities:
β’ Analyze and document current-state trade workflows and support the migration
β’ Interpret and work with FIX protocol messages, particularly around message types (Tag 35).
β’ Participate in data mapping activities to ensure accurate migration and integration of existing trade data.
β’ Provide insight into trade allocation logic and workflows for multiple asset classes (equities, options, futures, fixed income).
β’ Support test planning, UAT coordination, and assist in resolving platform transition issues.
β’ Collaborate cross-functionally with sell-side trading desks and trade supervision teams.
β’ Act as the liaison between business stakeholders (middle office, operations, compliance, tech ops) and technology teams.
Required Qualifications:
β’ 5+ years of experience in a Capital Markets environment, preferably on the OMS sell-side.
β’ Deep understanding of middle office processes and systems in electronic trading environments.
β’ Hands-on experience with FIX messaging and FIX tags, especially around execution messages (Tag 35).
β’ Experience with platform migrations or system consolidations within financial services.
β’ Strong knowledge of asset classes: equities, fixed income, futures, and options.
β’ Ability to do basic programming/scripting tasks, such as Excel macros and data lookups (VLOOKUP, pivot tables, etc.).
β’ Strong documentation, analysis, and communication skills.
β’ Comfortable engaging with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
β’ Experience working on similar OMS systems.
β’ Prior involvement in a middle office tech transformation project.
β’ Exposure to regulatory or compliance workflows related to trade processing.
