Business Analyst (Data Migration)

Client: A multi-entity distribution company standardizing business applications across B2B and B2C channels. Job Title: IT Business Analyst (Data Migration) Location: 100% Remote Type: Contracting About the Role • We are seeking a highly analytical and self-driven Business Systems Analyst to play a critical role in a large-scale enterprise transformation initiative. This role will support the selection and implementation of a standardized ERP and business application ecosystem across multiple independent business units. • You will partner closely with business leaders, technical teams, and cross-functional stakeholders to define requirements, lead ERP data migration efforts, and help design the future-state operating model. This is a high-impact role with visibility across sales, finance, procurement, warehouse operations, and order management functions. Key Responsibilities 🔹 Business Analysis & Requirements • Lead elicitation, analysis, and documentation of business and system requirements • Document current-state processes and define future-state models • Identify process improvements and operational efficiencies • Facilitate stakeholder workshops and requirements sessions • Analyze both technical system factors (I/O, data flows, integrations) and organizational factors (roles, policies, workflows) 🔹 ERP & Data Migration (Core Focus) • Lead data migration requirements from legacy systems into a new ERP environment (Sage X3 preferred) • Define and document: • Data mapping specifications • Transformation rules • Data validation criteria • Assess data quality and proactively identify risks and gaps • Collaborate with integration teams to ensure accurate data flow and system consistency 🔹 Solution Selection & Implementation • Contribute to ERP solution selection and implementation roadmap • Support business case development and approval documentation • Ensure architectural consistency and usability standards • Participate throughout the SDLC lifecycle 🔹 Testing & Deployment • Define and execute unit and functional test cases • Validate test results and support UAT • Assist with system demonstrations and training sessions • Provide third-level production support as needed Qualifications • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Business, or related field (or equivalent experience) • 3–5+ years of Business Analysis or Systems Analysis experience • Proven experience leading ERP data migration initiatives • Strong hands-on experience with: • Data mapping • Data transformation logic • Data validation and reconciliation • Data quality best practices • Experience working within ERP implementations (Sage X3 experience is a strong plus) • Familiarity with Confluence and JIRA • Working knowledge of SDLC methodologies
