Business Analyst (Data Program) 6 month contract Kansas City, MO Job Description: The Technology Business Analyst will play a pivotal role in our clients data transformation journey. This role focuses on bridging the gap between business priorities and technical implementation across data platforms, pipelines, and governance solutions. Partnering with Product Owners and delivery teams, the analyst will refine business stories into actionable technical requirements, enabling delivery of high-value, scalable data products. The position requires exceptional communication, technical fluency, and the ability to navigate complex business and IT landscapes to create alignment across stakeholders. • Act as a liaison between the business stakeholders, product owners, and technical delivery teams translating concepts into language that is easily understood by both parties. • Develop a fundamental understanding of your team's technical systems and your business stakeholders' processes. • Elicit user and technical requirements for new initiatives and ad hoc requests from multiple internal business practices. • Refine business requirements into detailed technical requirements and acceptance criteria for data pipelines, platform capabilities, and governance tooling. • Collaborate with architects and engineers to align requirements with platform standards, data mesh principles, and compliance needs. • Support design of CI/CD pipelines, observability practices, and data transformation workflows. • Ensure requirements support data-as-a-product and platform-as-a-product principles (scalability, reusability, security, compliance). • Ensure projects stay on track towards deliverable commitments, occasionally completing trade-off analysis to influence product decisions. • Apply critical thinking to troubleshoot issues quickly and effectively.
