Job Title: Business Analyst – EDI (Healthcare) Location: Dayton, OH 45402 Contract Duration: 12 Months Experience Required: 8–10 Years Job Description: We are seeking an experienced Business Analyst (EDI – Healthcare) for a 12-month contract role based in Dayton, OH. The ideal candidate will bring deep expertise in EDI transactions, claims management, and encounter processing, with a strong proficiency in SQL and working knowledge of EDIFECS platform tools. Key Responsibilities: • Act as a subject matter expert in encounters and claims management, performing in-depth analysis and documentation of EDI healthcare transactions. • Leverage strong SQL skills to extract, analyze, and validate data from multiple sources. • Analyze and interpret EDI transactions including 834, 835, and 837, with a strong understanding of loops, segments, and key attributes. • Work with EDIFECS tools including Spec Builder, Application Manager, Transaction Manager, and defining Trading Partners (TP). • Gather, analyze, and translate business requirements into technical solutions. • Collaborate with development and QA teams to ensure successful implementation and validation. • Engage with stakeholders and clients to provide regular updates, gather feedback, and refine requirements. • Mentor and guide junior team members in EDI processes and tools. Must-Have Skills: • Strong Business Analysis experience with a focus on encounters and claims management. • Hands-on SQL proficiency – must be able to write and interpret complex queries. • Deep knowledge of healthcare EDI transactions – especially 834, 835, and 837 formats. • Experience working with EDIFECS tools: Spec Builder, Application Manager, Transaction Manager, etc. • Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills. Nice-to-Have Skills: • Additional SQL and data visualization experience. • Experience in requirement analysis and design documentation. • Prior experience working in Agile or hybrid project environments. Top 3 Responsibilities: 1. Lead business analysis efforts related to EDI encounters and claims, leveraging strong SQL skills for data analysis and validation. 1. Provide mentorship to junior team members and support internal knowledge sharing. 1. Regularly interact with clients to gather requirements, present solutions, and ensure alignment throughout the project lifecycle.
