The Opportunity We are building the firm’s foundational data infrastructure and seeking a Senior Business Analyst / Excel Developer to design and implement a scalable, institutional-grade data management system. This is a hands-on role for someone who operates at the intersection of finance, data architecture, and Excel-based system design. Much of the firm’s institutional knowledge and operational data currently lives across spreadsheets and informal workflows. This role will lead the effort to formalize, automate, and centralize that data into a structured, scalable platform — with Excel remaining the primary user interface. This is a high-impact, long-term project with significant visibility and the potential to evolve into a senior technology leadership role. What You’ll Do • Design and build the firm’s foundational database and Excel-based data platform • Architect scalable data models that function like software while remaining Excel-driven for end users • Implement advanced Excel solutions using Power Query (M), Power Pivot (DAX), and structured data models • Develop automation using VBA and integrate with backend systems where appropriate • Partner closely with investment, operations, and internal development resources to define data requirements and workflows • Establish data governance, validation, and auditability to support institutional reporting and decision-making • Migrate institutional knowledge from ad hoc spreadsheets into a centralized, scalable architecture • Optimize performance and reliability as data volume and complexity grow What We’re Looking For • 12+ years of experience in data management, data architecture, or financial systems development • Expert-level Excel skills, including Power Query (M) and Power Pivot (DAX) • Strong VBA experience for automation and workflow development • Solid understanding of SQL and relational database design for backend architecture • Experience building scalable data models and Excel-based tools used as operational systems • Ability to translate business and investment requirements into structured technical solutions • Strong attention to data integrity, structure, and long-term scalability • Background in finance, private credit, investment management, or complex financial operations is a plus Role Details • Contract duration: 12–18 months- Hire
