Role description
Business Analyst – Financial Services / Investments 5062 Springfield, MA (Hybrid – 3 days onsite) 6–12 Month Contract | W2 Only (No C2C / No Sponsorship) We’re looking for a Business Analyst with strong experience in financial services, ideally within a broker/dealer environment (SEC / FINRA exposure is a big plus). This role is focused on data, business intelligence, and translating business needs into actionable solutions. What You’ll Be Doing • Work across the full SDLC – from requirements gathering through implementation and support • Partner with stakeholders to identify pain points, inefficiencies, and improvement opportunities • Lead stakeholder interviews and workshops; document current and future state processes • Translate high-level business needs into functional specifications and user stories • Act as the liaison between business and technical teams • Analyze systems and data to ensure accuracy, integrity, and usability • Create documentation including process flows, data mappings, and technical requirements • Develop source-to-target mappings for reporting and downstream data consumption • Validate requirements against system standards and best practices • Support delivery by defining scope, identifying risks, and managing dependencies • Communicate progress, insights, and outcomes to stakeholders and leadership • Assist with implementation, training, and post-go-live support What You Bring • 6+ years of experience as a Business Analyst / BSA / Data Analyst • Strong experience with requirements gathering, analysis, and documentation • Experience working with cross-functional teams and stakeholders • Ability to translate business needs into technical requirements and reporting solutions • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and critical thinking skills • Detail-oriented with the ability to manage priorities and meet deadlines • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Information Systems, or related field Nice to Have • Experience in financial services / investments • Familiarity with broker-dealer environments (SEC / FINRA) • Exposure to data-focused BA work (data validation, mappings, reporting) • Strong communication skills across technical and non-technical teams Core Skill Set • Requirements Gathering / Analysis / Documentation • Stakeholder Interviews & Workshop Facilitation • Business & Systems Analysis • Data Validation & Reporting • Process Flows & Gap Analysis • User Stories & Functional Specs • Source-to-Target Mapping • Risk / Dependency / Trade-off Analysis • Communication & Cross-Team Collaboration
