Location: Charlotte, NC or Jersey City, NJ
Department: Capital Markets / Securities Lending / Operations
Job Summary:
We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Business Analyst with strong experience in Securities Lending and Clearance & Settlement. The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of securities finance operations and post-trade processing, and will work closely with front, middle, and back-office stakeholders to support project delivery, process optimization, and regulatory compliance. This role plays a key part in bridging the gap between business needs and technical solutions across the securities lending and settlement lifecycle.
Key Responsibilities:
· Gather and document business and system requirements related to securities lending, trade capture, post-trade processing, and settlement workflows.
· Analyze and optimize end-to-end processes including trade booking, matching, recalls, billing, settlements, and returns.
· Collaborate with operations and technology teams to ensure timely settlement of securities lending transactions, identifying and resolving fails, breaks, and reconciliation issues.
· Support implementation and enhancements of vendor platforms (e.g., EquiLend, Pirum, Broadridge, DTCC, Omgeo).
· Design solutions to ensure efficient clearance and settlement processes, reduce operational risk, and improve STP (straight-through processing).
· Serve as a subject matter expert on settlement cycles (T+1, T+2), corporate actions, settlement exceptions, and fails management.
· Coordinate with custodians, prime brokers, and depositories to ensure accurate and timely settlement.
· Provide business input on regulatory initiatives including CSDR, SFTR, and SEC Rule 15c3-3.
· Develop test cases, support UAT, and validate clearance and settlement logic across systems.
· Create process flows, BRDs, data mappings, and training materials for users across business and operations.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
· Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Business, Economics, or related field.
· 5+ years of experience as a business analyst or operations analyst in Securities Lending and Clearance & Settlement.
· In-depth knowledge of the full trade lifecycle, from trade execution to settlement and reconciliation.
· Experience with settlement systems and matching utilities, including DTCC, Euroclear, Clearstream, and Omgeo.
· Familiarity with fails management, stock record, buy-ins, and pre-matching processes.
· Strong understanding of securities lending operations, collateral, and beneficial owner reporting.
· Proficiency in Excel, SQL, and data analysis tools (Power BI, Tableau).
· Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.
· Experience with Agile methodologies and cross-functional project work.
Preferred Qualifications:
· Familiarity with global settlement markets and central counterparties (CCPs).
· Experience working in large investment banks, custodians, or agency lending desks.
