Job Description
The Global Policy & Standards (GPS) team within GSOP develops Partner and Merchant Policy, Standards, and Programs to remain competitive, support new products & capabilities, improve data quality, and promote compliance. Reporting to the Senior Manager, GMS Acquisition policy, the Payment Model Evaluation role is an individual contributor role that supports the Payment Model Evaluation (PME) process, which assesses merchant relationships in alignment with Global Merchant Acquisition policies within a rapidly evolving Fintech and payments environment. This position supports governance and risk management objectives through analytical assessments, policy interpretation support, and participation in special projects that strengthen enterprise knowledge and control frameworks.This role partners with business and control group stakeholders to support consistent policy application, risk identification, and continuous improvement of Acquisition Governance processes. The position provides exposure to a broad view of the global payments ecosystem and supports initiatives across multiple regions and time zones.
Key Responsibilities include:
Supporting the interpretation and application of Global Merchant Acquisition and Acquisition Governance policies in alignment with established guidelines
Performing analytical assessments of new and emerging payment models to evaluate merchant business activities, risks, and policy alignment
Interpreting assessment results using a range of analytical techniques, from basic data aggregation and statistical analysis to leveraging AI based tools
Partnering with business teams, project leads, and control groups (e.g., Risk, Compliance, Legal) to gather requirements and support cross-functional alignment discussions
Contributing to discussions that support conclusions on appropriate policy adherence and governance requirements, under the direction of senior team members
Supporting the design, development, implementation, and maintenance of analytical tools, documentation, and business solutions that support Payment Model Evaluation objectives
Contribute to the ongoing enhancement and continuous improvement of Payment Model Evaluation and Acquisition Governance processes

Proven ability to work autonomously to manage individual deliverables

Working knowledge of standard analytical, governance, and policy concepts and practices
Strong interpersonal and collaboration skills
Ability to build strong working relationships and influence without direct authority
Ability to ask the right questions to understand complex processes
Working hours flexibility given the international nature of the role
Strong analytical, problem-solving, and documentation skills
Proficiency in MS Office tools (Excel, PowerPoint, Word)
Preferred Qualifications
Knowledge of GMS merchant acquiring business
Working knowledge of AI tools (ChatGPT)
Experience supporting governance, policy, or control-related programs
Familiarity with payments, merchant acquiring, or Fintech business models
Experience working in a global, matrixed organization
