Role description
Role Purpose We have an exciting opportunity for an experienced Business Analyst to join our Technology Team, on a 6 month fixed term basis. The Business Analyst will identify, analyse and define solutions that maximise value delivery to NorthStandard’s stakeholders. The role will play a key part in enterprise-wide data discovery and migration planning initiatives. This includes identifying, cataloguing and analysing document repositories, data assets and cross-functional dependencies to support operational continuity, regulatory compliance and audit discoverability across transformation programmes. The successful candidate will operate independently, manage stakeholder relationships effectively and contribute to both tactical and strategic decision-making. What will you be doing? Enterprise Data Discovery & Migration Planning: • Lead enterprise-wide data and document discovery exercises to identify Document types and classifications, Repositories and storage locations, Ownership and accountability and Cross-functional dependencies. • Assist functions in mapping “what sits where” across legacy systems, shared drives, collaboration platforms and structured repositories. • Identify non-standard or bespoke filing arrangements and assess associated operational and compliance risks. • Quantify shadow storage and informal collaboration practices that may impact governance or migration readiness. • Conduct Migration readiness assessments Other Business Analysis Responsibilities may include: • Advise on the approach to identify, investigate and analyse complex business problems and opportunities. • Inform tactical decision-making and support development of longer-term strategic plans. • Recommend and conduct options analysis, feasibility assessments and business case development, including quantification of benefits. • Ensure proposed solutions align with business objectives, user needs and expected outcomes. • Lead and facilitate workshops to gather requirements and define solutions. • Communicate effectively with stakeholders, clarifying needs, managing expectations and resolving conflicts. • Champion continuous improvement and best practice in business analysis. About You Essential Skills, Qualifications & Experience • Extensive experience in business analysis in a Financial Services environment, including significant experience in working within transformation programmes and projects. • A Business Analyst qualification e.g. IIBA, BCS or PMI. • Strong knowledge of business analysis methodologies, with the ability to leverage appropriate tools and techniques to deliver multiple objectives simultaneously to challenging deadlines. • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to navigate complex issues and develop innovative solutions. • Expert in using process mapping software such as Visio. • Excellent working knowledge of MS Office & M365 (including Word, PowerPoint, Excel and Outlook)– strong general IT literacy. • Efficient & effective administration skills, demonstrating an attention to detail concerning work produced and succinct report writing skills and effective chairing of meetings • Good planning and organisational skills. • Strong stakeholder management and relationship-building skills, with the ability to build trust and influence key decision-makers. • Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to demonstrate sound written and verbal communication skills. • By default, with the role to be personally present and to hold virtual sessions with several global offices. Desirable Skills & Experience • Experience supporting document management system (DMS) implementations or migrations. • Familiarity with enterprise content management platforms (e.g., iManage, SharePoint, OpenText). • Experience in regulated environments with strict audit and compliance requirements. • Lean or Six Sigma accreditation (Green or Black Belt) beneficial. • Exposure to portfolio or change governance frameworks.
