About the Role
Weβre seeking experienced Business Analysts to support multiple ongoing IT projects for a government technology division. The ideal candidate will have strong experience in requirements gathering, documentation, stakeholder engagement, and Agile delivery.
This is a hybrid position requiring local or regional candidates who can be onsite 2β3 days per week.
Key Responsibilities
β’ Collaborate with business leaders, SMEs, and technical teams to gather and document requirements.
β’ Create and maintain user stories, acceptance criteria, and design documentation for application development teams.
β’ Document, trace, prioritize, and assess changes to business workflows and system processes.
β’ Conduct data analysis and recommend improvements to systems and procedures.
β’ Maintain accurate project information including risks, timelines, and deliverables.
β’ Serve as a liaison between stakeholders and technical teams to ensure effective communication.
β’ Work within an Agile framework, delivering value while adapting to shifting priorities.
β’ Support project management and quality assurance activities as needed.
Required Skills & Experience
β’ 8+ years experience working on large, complex IT systems.
β’ Strong experience in eliciting requirements, writing user stories, defining acceptance criteria, and documenting design specifications.
β’ Deep understanding of SDLC procedures, system development methodologies, and project governance.
β’ Proven ability to manage stakeholder expectations and shifting priorities.
β’ Excellent task management and multi-project coordination skills.
β’ 8+ years working with Microsoft development platforms and software.
β’ 6+ years experience in Agile environments.
β’ 5+ years experience with Application Lifecycle Management (ALM) tools, such as:
β’ Microsoft Azure DevOps (ADO)
β’ Team Foundation Server (TFS) / Visual Studio Team Services (VSTS)
β’ Jira or IBM Rational Team Suite (RTC)
β’ 5+ years hands-on experience with Microsoft SQL Server Management Studio (SSMS) or similar relational database tools.
β’ Familiarity with data modeling standards, information management practices, or architecture design (3+ years).
β’ Bachelorβs degree in Management Information Systems, Business, or a related field, or equivalent professional experience (8+ years).
Preferred Qualifications
β’ Prior experience supporting government or public-sector IT projects.
β’ Strong analytical mindset with the ability to translate business objectives into technical requirements.
β’ Experience facilitating workshops, process mapping, and continuous improvement initiatives.
β’ Ability to recognize value through benefit realization and organizational modernization.
