Location: Mechanicsburg, PA
Position Type: Mostly Remote
Hybrid Schedule: Onsite as needed
Contract Length: Long-term with annual extensions
Position Overview:
The Business Analyst will support new system development and enhancements by independently eliciting, analyzing, and documenting clear, comprehensive business and system requirements. This role emphasizes strong Waterfall-based requirements documentation while collaborating with technical and business stakeholders throughout the system lifecycle.
Duties:
• Gather, analyze, and document business rules, processes, and applicable legislation.
• Lead requirements-gathering sessions with business users and technical teams for complex system initiatives.
• Analyze policies, procedures, RFPs, and legislative documentation to identify required system or process changes.
• Partner with business users to define, improve, and implement business processes supported by IT systems.
• Develop, enhance, and document detailed system and functional requirements.
• Prepare and review detailed functional specifications to support system development and enhancements.
• Create use cases and other requirements artifacts to clearly capture user and system needs.
• Execute responsibilities independently with minimal guidance or oversight.
• Assist with system testing, validation, and defect resolution.
• Support preparation, planning, and prioritization of system change requests.
• Contribute to the development of user training materials.
• Troubleshoot system, data, and process-related issues.
• Collaborate with development and database teams to document business rules supporting data migration and system integrations.
• Develop mock-ups and visual aids to support requirements elicitation and validation.
• Create As-Is and To-Be process flows to document current and future business processes.
• Perform basic SQL queries as needed to support analysis and validation.
• Perform related duties as required to support project and operational needs.
Required Skills:
• 7+ years of experience working across the SDLC using Waterfall and/or Agile methodologies.
• 7+ years of experience writing clear, detailed use cases and requirements documentation.
• 7+ years of experience developing comprehensive business requirements.
• 7+ years of experience developing detailed functional requirements.
• 7+ years of experience performing business process re-engineering initiatives.
Preferred Skills:
• 3+ years of experience in business change management.
• 3+ years of experience using Team Foundation Server (TFS).
