Business Analyst

This role is hybrid in Irvine, California and is 30 hours per week. Overview of Position The Business Analyst serves as a key link between business needs and technology solutions, ensuring that initiatives align with organizational goals. This role focuses on analyzing processes, designing data-driven solutions, and supporting strategic decision-making to improve efficiency and outcomes. The ideal candidate brings strong analytical, communication, and project management skills, with the ability to translate complex information into actionable insights. Essential Functions • Collaborate with stakeholders to gather, document, and analyze business requirements. • Evaluate existing processes and identify opportunities for improvement and automation. • Develop business cases, project documentation, and workflow diagrams. • Partner with IT and cross-functional teams to design and implement effective solutions. • Facilitate meetings and workshops to ensure stakeholder alignment. • Use data analytics to identify trends and support decision-making. • Build and maintain dashboards and reports to track key metrics. • Conduct cost-benefit analyses and provide recommendations to leadership. • Support training and change management activities for new systems or processes. • Ensure data accuracy, compliance, and integrity across business systems. • Perform other duties and project support as assigned. Education & Certifications • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Information Systems, or a related field (or equivalent experience). • Advanced degree (MBA, MHA, or related) preferred. • Professional certifications (e.g., CBAP, CCBA, PMP, or related) are a plus. • Ongoing professional development and familiarity with current industry trends encouraged. Experience • 3–5 years of experience as a Business Analyst, ideally within a complex or regulated industry (healthcare, finance, technology, etc.). • Demonstrated experience in process analysis, workflow optimization, and requirements documentation. • Strong background in stakeholder management and cross-functional collaboration. • Familiarity with project management methodologies (Agile, Waterfall) and tools (JIRA, MS Project). • Experience with data analytics, reporting tools, and systems integration. Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities • Proficiency in analytical tools such as Excel, SQL, or Power BI. • Strong understanding of business systems, process mapping, and data workflows. • Excellent communication, presentation, and documentation skills. • Ability to manage multiple priorities and adapt to a fast-paced environment. • Strong problem-solving and critical thinking abilities. • Collaborative mindset and ability to build strong relationships across teams. • Attention to detail and commitment to data quality and accuracy. • Sound judgment and discretion when handling confidential information.
