Candidates selected for roles will be employed as contract workers through Amazonβs approved 3rd party Direct Source provider for the duration of the specified project and will not be an employee of Amazon.
β’ Serve as the bridge between Finance stakeholders and TM1 engineering for Amazon Musics financial forecasting application (DeLorean).
β’ Translate finance reporting requirements and model logic into technical specifications, coordinate with TM1 engineers to implement changes, and own user acceptance testing for new model onboardings.
β’ Review existing Finance processes and workflows to identify inefficiencies and propose improved solutions within the planning platform
Key Responsibilities:
β’ Gather and document finance reporting requirements from FP&A stakeholders; translate into technical specifications for TM1/Apliqo implementation
β’ Partner with TM1 engineering (GME_Finance_Tech) to design, test, and deploy updates to the forecasting application
β’ Own model onboarding workflows coordinate the end-to-end process of integrating new financial models (Promo, Churn, TAMC) into the planning system
β’ Review existing Finance reporting and forecasting processes end-to-end; identify manual steps, redundancies, and pain points; propose and spec streamlined solutions leveraging platform capabilities
β’ Define and execute UAT plans; validate that cube changes produce expected outputs before production release
β’ Document business rules, calculation logic, and data lineage for forecasting dimensions
β’ Identify gaps between Finance requirements and current system capabilities; propose solutions within TM1/Apliqo constraints
β’ Support data quality initiatives by tracing metric discrepancies across reporting surfaces back to pipeline or cube-level root causes
Required Qualifications:
β’ 4-6+ years experience as a Business Analyst or similar role in finance systems or enterprise planning tools
β’ Direct experience translating business requirements into technical specifications for engineering teams
β’ Demonstrated ability to assess existing business processes and design improved workflows
β’ Familiarity with financial planning and analysis concepts (forecasting, actuals vs. plan variance, dimensional modeling)
β’ Advanced Excel skills (complex formulas, pivot tables, data modeling, scenario analysis)
β’ Working knowledge of SQL; able to query relational databases to validate data and trace lineage
β’ Experience with UAT planning and execution
β’ Clear written and verbal communication - able to speak both Finance and Engineering
Preferred Qualifications:
β’ Experience with TM1, Planning Analytics, or Apliqo
β’ Familiarity with ETL pipelines and data warehouse concepts (Redshift, Andes, or similar)
β’ Experience in media, streaming, or subscription business models
β’ Bachelors degree in Finance, Business, Information Systems, or related field
Reporting and Collaboration:
β’ Reports to the DeLorean platform product manager
β’ Works daily with TM1 engineers (GME_Finance_Tech), Finance Managers, BIEs, and Data Engineers
β’ May coordinate with data science on model integration requirements
