Role description
We are seeking an experienced Business Analyst III to support logistics systems, transportation management integrations, and operational process improvements within a fast-paced commercial logistics environment. This role is ideal for a highly analytical professional with strong SAP/TMS experience and a background in rail or truck transportation operations.
The successful candidate will play a key role in improving transportation management processes, supporting ERP integrations, enhancing data visibility, and driving operational efficiencies across logistics workflows.
Key Responsibilities
β’ Support and monitor integrations between Transportation Management Systems (TMS) and ERP platforms, troubleshooting issues and driving root-cause resolution.
β’ Analyze logistics data, operational workflows, and system performance to identify improvement opportunities and support data-driven decision-making.
β’ Serve as a subject matter resource for TMS applications and logistics processes, providing user support and operational guidance.
β’ Collaborate with business and technical teams on system enhancements, process optimization initiatives, and integration projects.
β’ Maintain high levels of data accuracy and integrity across transportation and logistics platforms.
β’ Document business processes, system updates, workflows, and improvement initiatives.
β’ Support logistics transparency and freight management optimization initiatives across rail and truck operations.
β’ Conduct end-to-end process analysis to improve reporting consistency, operational efficiency, and system effectiveness.
β’ Work independently on moderately complex assignments while coordinating with stakeholders to resolve risks and issues.
Required Qualifications
β’ Bachelorβs degree in Supply Chain, Logistics, Business, Information Systems, or related field.
β’ 4+ years of experience working with Transportation Management Systems (TMS), ERP systems, SAP environments, and process improvement initiatives.
β’ Experience supporting logistics operations, preferably within rail transportation environments.
β’ Hands-on experience integrating TMS platforms with ERP systems (SAP preferred).
β’ Strong analytical, critical-thinking, and root-cause analysis skills.
β’ Ability to understand downstream impacts of data and system changes across business processes.
β’ Experience working with operational reporting tools, dashboards, and logistics analytics.
β’ Proficiency with Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, Word, SharePoint, and Microsoft 365 applications.
β’ Strong communication and cross-functional collaboration skills.
β’ Ability to document business requirements, workflows, and system interactions effectively.
Preferred Qualifications
β’ Experience with SAP S/4HANA or SAP R/3 environments.
β’ Familiarity with vendor billing documents, shipment cost documents, nominations, and ticket actualization processes.
β’ Experience with rail logistics systems or railroad carrier platforms.
β’ Exposure to Power BI dashboards and logistics reporting tools.
β’ Experience supporting transportation optimization initiatives across truck and rail operations.
Additional Details
β’ Onsite requirement: 5 days/week during initial evaluation period (60β90 days), with potential for hybrid flexibility afterward.
