Job Title: Business analyst III
Location: Pomona, CA – Hybrid (2 Days Onsite: Monday & Tuesday)
Duration: 12 Months Contract (03/11/2026 – 03/10/2027)
Schedule: Monday – Friday, 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM
Hours: 40 hours per week
Pay: $35-38/hr on W2
Position Overview
Client is seeking a Business Analyst III to support the Operations Scoping team within Power Delivery Services. The role focuses on data analysis, stakeholder coordination, inspection workflow management, and operational reporting.
The analyst will work closely with internal teams, contractors, and customers to ensure efficient inspection scheduling, access coordination, and accurate operational data reporting. The position also involves data validation, dashboard monitoring, and process improvements to support operational compliance and risk mitigation efforts.
This role requires strong analytical, communication, and data management skills, along with experience using SAP, Power BI, SAS, SQL, and GIS tools.
Key Responsibilities
1. Stakeholder Engagement & Customer Coordination
• Act as the primary point of contact between contractors and customers to facilitate communication and resolve access issues.
• Coordinate inspection appointments and ensure necessary approvals and permissions are obtained.
• Manage and document customer access challenges, notifications, and communication records.
• Utilize SCE’s Customer Contact Information (CCI) system to proactively schedule inspections and minimize unnecessary field visits.
• Maintain organized records related to inspection access constraints and resolution activities.
1. Inspection Constraint Tracking & Exception Management
• Monitor and track inspection constraints that may prevent scheduled field inspections.
• Identify issues related to:
• Government land access
• CROPS restrictions
• Property access limitations
• Operational constraints
• Create and manage work orders for access-related issues, including:
• Vendor instructions
• Appointment information
• Gate codes
• Contact details
• Special access instructions
• Work with vendors and internal teams to resolve access issues quickly to avoid inspection delays.
• Track constrained inspections to ensure risk mitigation compliance requirements are met.
• Support development and enhancement of data management tools that improve operational tracking and reporting.
1. Data Analysis & Data Quality Management
• Analyze operational data and identify data discrepancies or synchronization issues.
• Validate that inspection data is properly populated and reflected in reporting dashboards such as:
• SAS dashboards
• Power BI dashboards
• Investigate data inconsistencies using:
• SAP
• InspectApp
• EZYViewer
• Work with internal teams and IT to resolve system synchronization issues.
• Ensure operational data accuracy to support inspection compliance reporting and management decision-making.
1. Reporting, Dashboard Monitoring & Data Management
• Maintain and enhance operational reporting dashboards.
• Assist in developing data visualization tools for management reporting.
• Use Excel, SAS, Power BI, SQL, and Python to analyze large datasets and generate insights.
• Track performance metrics related to:
• inspection scheduling
• inspection completion
• operational constraints
• risk mitigation compliance
1. Mapping & GIS Data Analysis
• Use ArcGIS tools to create mapping datasets and spatial analysis reports.
• Create KMZ files and spatial joins in Excel to identify potential inspection access issues.
• Combine different GIS layers such as:
• District boundaries
• FLOC locations
• Circuit maps
• Constrained access areas
• Generate tables and datasets to improve inspection planning and resource allocation.
1. Project Support & Process Improvement
• Support initiatives focused on improving operational processes and inspection workflows.
• Identify opportunities for process optimization and automation.
• Track project activities from:
• Issue identification
• Root cause analysis
• Solution development
• Implementation and resolution
• Collaborate with stakeholders to implement best practices for operational efficiency.
