Role description
Position: Insurance Business Analyst
Location: Schaumburg, IL
Duration: 6 months
Rate: DOE

Requirements:
β’ 7+ years as a Business Analyst in the commercial insurance industry.
β’ 3+ years working with or supporting commercial underwriting teams.
β’ Strong knowledge of commercial insurance products/workflows (GL, Auto, Property, Workersβ Comp, Excess/Umbrella).
β’ Experience with policy administration systems (Guidewire PolicyCenter, Duck Creek, or equivalent).
β’ Proficiency in documenting business and functional requirements in Agile/Scrum environments.
β’ Strong analytical, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
Preferred Qualifications:
β’ Experience with submission intake, appetite & eligibility, risk assessment, and referral workflows.
β’ Familiarity with underwriting workbench platforms, rating models, and third-party data integration.
β’ Experience in digital transformation or legacy modernization efforts in underwriting.
β’ Knowledge of ISO/NCCI rules and regulatory compliance in commercial lines.
Responsibilities:
β’ Gather, document, and analyze underwriting requirements and pain points with underwriters, product teams, and operations.
β’ Translate business needs into functional requirements, use cases, user stories, and process flows.
β’ Collaborate with technology teams on underwriting systems, tools, and workflow automation.
β’ Drive initiatives to enhance efficiency, decision-making, and compliance in underwriting.
β’ Participate in UAT planning, test case development, and defect triage.
β’ Support change management, training, and rollout for new capabilities or process changes.
β’ Monitor industry trends and regulatory updates for compliance and competitiveness.
