Role Overview
eNGINE is seeking a Business Analyst who operates at the intersection of business and application development. This role is centered on improving and enhancing enterprise applications — working closely with developers to define features, refine requirements, and ensure systems meet evolving business needs. While strong SQL skills remain important for validation and troubleshooting, the primary focus is on application functionality, system enhancements, and end-user experience within a complex enterprise environment.
Key Responsibilities
Partner with stakeholders to elicit, analyze, and refine requirements for new application features and system enhancements
Translate business objectives into functional specifications, user stories, and detailed acceptance criteria
Collaborate directly with development teams throughout the SDLC to clarify requirements and support design decisions
Participate in backlog grooming, sprint planning, and application release cycles
Validate new functionality through structured testing, including integration and user acceptance testing
Use SQL to support functional validation, investigate issues, and confirm expected system behavior
Analyze application workflows to identify opportunities for automation, performance improvements, and usability enhancements
Assist in production support efforts by troubleshooting application-level issues and coordinating resolution efforts
Maintain comprehensive documentation including process flows, system interactions, and feature specifications
Serve as a liaison between business users, QA, and engineering teams to ensure alignment and successful delivery
Required Qualifications
Demonstrated experience working on enterprise application development or enhancement initiatives
Strong ability to convert business requirements into clear technical documentation and user stories
Solid SQL experience for querying, validation, and application troubleshooting
Experience supporting applications in production environments
Familiarity with Agile or Scrum methodologies
Strong communication skills with the ability to interact effectively with both technical and non-technical stakeholders
Preferred Experience
Experience supporting financial services or regulated business environments
Background working alongside software engineering teams on custom-built applications
Familiarity with API integrations, system interfaces, and application workflows
Exposure to structured release management and change control processes
Experience participating in modernization or application rewrite initiatives
