Role description
IN SHORT We are looking for a skilled Business Analyst to join our Operations & Optimisation vertical within SEFE Marketing & Trading (SM&T). Based in London, you will support our Commercial Operations team—encompassing the operations, nominations, and scheduling of our physical Power and Gas business. Working closely with Front Office, Trading, Pricing, Settlements and a dedicated technology team, you will analyse business processes, maintain day‑to‑day system capability, and help shape strategic and tactical enhancements across our trading and operational systems. What Will You Do • Deliver technology‑enabled business change both autonomously and as part of a collaborative BA team. • Work closely with Front Office Operators, Sales, Trading, Pricing, and Settlements to assess, define, and deliver tactical and strategic system enhancements. • Support BAU change requests and small business change initiatives. • Work with a dedicated project team—PMs, Architects, Developers, QA—across the full lifecycle of system improvements. • Engage with business stakeholders to understand processes, develop business cases, gather and document requirements, and create specifications and acceptance criteria. • Ensure business change is well‑planned, prioritised, and backed by high‑quality user stories and acceptance criteria. • Collaborate with testing teams to support unit, QA, and UAT testing, ensuring solutions meet expectations and deliver positive business impact. • Contribute to business readiness plans and support successful implementations. • Deliver user training and ensure user documentation remains accurate and up to date. • Conduct post‑implementation reviews to measure effectiveness and performance. What Will You Bring • Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills with excellent attention to detail. • Ability to work independently and within a team, managing workload with minimal supervision. • Experience as a Business Analyst in an energy trading or energy supplier environment. • Ability to translate business needs into effective IT solutions. • Confident communicator with strong stakeholder management skills. • Experience working with Agile/iterative delivery.Knowledge of physical energy trading, the full deal lifecycle, and/or nominations/scheduling (desirable). • Comfortable working in a fast‑paced BAU environment and managing competing priorities.
