Role description
Location: Remote (U.S.-based, must be available to work EST hours)
Engagement: Part-time (20 hours per week, approximately 4 hours per day)
Duration: 6 months contract
About The Role
Our client is seeking an experienced Business Analyst to support product development initiatives across multiple client workstreams within a fast-paced, Agile-driven environment. The Business Analyst will serve as a key liaison between stakeholders, technical teams, and project leadership - ensuring that product vision, business requirements, and system integrations are clearly defined and executed.
This individual will play a pivotal role in facilitating product discovery, documenting business requirements, and supporting Agile ceremonies, while working collaboratively with cross-functional teams that include project managers, designers, developers, and solution architects.
This role is ideal for a hands-on, client-facing Business Analyst with strong Agile and eCommerce experience, especially within the Shopify ecosystem.
Key Responsibilities
β’ Facilitate discovery sessions and requirements assessments with business stakeholders and client partners.
β’ Translate client needs into detailed business requirement documents, user stories, and product backlogs.
β’ Create process flows, user journeys, and system diagrams to clarify product functionality and integration points.
β’ Partner closely with Project Managers and Scrum Leads to support Agile ceremonies such as sprint planning, refinement, demos, and retrospectives.
β’ Collaborate across teams - including Design, Development, Quality Assurance, and Solutions Architecture - to ensure alignment between product goals and technical delivery.
β’ Develop system architecture diagrams for eCommerce integrations (both upstream and downstream).
β’ Use tools such as Lucidchart, Miro, or similar diagramming tools to visualize workflows, architecture, and business processes.
β’ Demonstrate a strong working understanding of Shopify and eCommerce ecosystems.
Required Qualifications
β’ 4+ years of experience as a Business Analyst, ideally within an Agile, product-focused, or eCommerce environment.
β’ Proven ability to capture, analyze, and translate business requirements into actionable deliverables.
β’ Hands-on experience facilitating Agile ceremonies and working with Agile methodologies (Scrum, Kanban, SAFe).
β’ Proficiency with Agile tools such as JIRA, Asana, or Trello for backlog management and tracking.
β’ Excellent communication and documentation skills, with the ability to work directly with clients and stakeholders.
β’ Strong analytical mindset with attention to detail and an understanding of system dependencies and integrations.
β’ Experience collaborating with multidisciplinary teams including PMs, Developers, and Designers.
β’ Familiarity with Shopify (required).
Preferred / Nice-to-Have Qualifications
β’ Certifications such as CSPO (Certified Scrum Product Owner) or Certified SAFe Agilist.
β’ Experience working in digital agencies or consulting environments with multiple concurrent clients.
β’ Understanding of UX/UI collaboration in product development processes.
β’ Exposure to API-based systems, third-party integrations, and eCommerce architecture.
What Sets This Role Apart
This position offers the opportunity to work directly with cross-functional product teams to define and shape the digital experience for high-impact eCommerce clients. The Business Analyst will be instrumental in ensuring that every feature, integration, and process aligns with business goals and delivers measurable results.
If you enjoy bridging business strategy with technical execution and thrive in Agile environments, this role offers both autonomy and collaboration with a talented, globally distributed team.
